@hazinto Here in Valencia it is available, specifically at El Corte Inglés in Sorolla. I tell you this because if you go to the shopping centre in Pamplona they can order it for you. At least one by Annick Goutal -which is not sold in Valencia- they ordered it for me from Madrid-Castellana and I had it in my hands within a week. Good luck and may you have it soon.
I acquired this fragrance in France as it was impossible to find it in Spain. At first, patchouli mixed with the sweetness of rum is felt with intensity, curiously reducing that intensity while also noting a faint lavender with basil contributions, giving it a green and slightly refreshing touch. In the heart phase, sweet woods dominate with green traces of patchouli and rum, leaving a still quite sweet aroma of woods and rum close to the skin after 6 hours. L’Insoumis is truly a good perfume; it does not seem generic to me nor does it remind me of another fragrance. It has an adult, mature, serious and timeless style, as if they had taken a classic fragrance and ‘modernised’ it. It feels woody, sweet and green, perfect for cold and rainy afternoons. In my opinion, Lalique does not disappoint with this launch, despite having gone unnoticed. A fragrance worth trying and that is up to the height of other works by the house.
@hazinto I would like to tell you that you can buy it in Spain at El Corte Inglés; I am not sure with certainty, but it is also possible at Perfumerías Juliá. I had it in my hands there yesterday, in the department store, and I must say yes, that it is of very good quality. It is possible at Juliá because they have the licence for Lalique.
@juancar677 I did not know it was already available at El Corte Inglés. I must say that when I bought it in mid-January I could not find it in any Spanish shop or website. Anyway, Lalique is not found in all El Corte Inglés stores, just like other brands such as Creed; I asked at the one in Pamplona and they looked at me strangely. Possibly it is easier to find it in Madrid or Barcelona, as I imagine they will have more variety. However, it is good news that it is available and more accessible for those interested.
LALIQUE IS FRENCH QUALITY; every piece is a finding where this brand thinks well of every detail. Its solid bottle with raised black edges and a dark fern, plus a silver cap with swallows, worthy of a jewel. Its transparent greenish hue hides a fantastic opening: lavender, dry earthy touches, clarified rosemary (perhaps the alien note they do not mention), moss and then the woody. I liked that earthy forest like Terre d’Hermès in its heart phase, or Bang Bang by Marc Jacobs, evoking a forest. It is realised with lavender, moss, wood and coumarin. My bet would be for an EDP, as on my skin it did not have the same as Encre Noire by Longevitad. I clarify that with the fougères or freshies they do not take me as the sweeter ones, but I like these aromas much. @chrystiane, you are right, the packaging is very similar to Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo, but I do not know its scent.
L’Insoumis by Lalique seems herbal, green, aromatic and woody. The first few minutes are brilliant, with no resemblance to other fragrances. It feels green, herbal and balsamic, where basil and rum are noticeable. That sensation lasts about 30 minutes and then gives way to woods and some floral note. For now, it feels aquatic, like the creations of Jean Claude Ellena. I agree with the review by @hazinto: elegant, not very youthful, leaning towards formal use. Lalique almost never disappoints. Its longevity is good, although it projects little. P.S. The bottles of L’Insoumis and Ferragamo Uomo are very similar, but the scents go in opposite directions.
L’Insoumis by Lalique is herbal, green, aromatic, and woody. The first few minutes are brilliant, unlike anything I’ve tried before; there’s a green-balsamic sensation where basil and rum (yes, I detect it) are prominent. That feeling lasts about 30 minutes before giving way to woods and a floral touch. It feels aquatic, like Ellena fragrances. I agree with hazinto: it’s elegant, not particularly youthful, and suited for formal occasions. Lalique doesn’t disappoint. Longevity is good, but projection is very weak. P.S. The bottles for L’Insoumis and Ferragamo Uomo look similar, but the scents head in opposite directions.
For me, it is a youthful fragrance, without a heavy trail. It has a classic touch, but not as the more mature seek it. It has that special something that Lalique usually offers, for vain boys who dress up and do not wish to offend too much. That rum and wood stand out above all. It is sweet at first and drier at the base.
L’Insoumis has slowly conquered me. I bought it a few months ago at a discount store on the US East Coast at a ridiculous price and could not ignore it. I have used it four times and conclude that it has come from much more… to even more. It is a perfume that requires an ‘approach’ to appreciate it beyond its initial burst; very attractive and it could fool more than two. After losing its initial edge, it settles into a sensual, moderately mature woody basil; perhaps not to everyone’s taste. It is not for easy conquest, but it results in being very masculine and generates a response. It denotes its own personality, in keeping with the mysterious forest of its advertising. It has a dirty lavender that links it to the classics but feels very new. The bottle is beautiful, in the style of ‘Les Tourbillons’ by Lalique. Although its longevity is medium-low (8 hours), in that time I have received incredible compliments. Landing on wood with aldehyde hallucinations, subtly sweet and aquatic herbal. Little known in Mexico, it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. Its test is recommended.
While strolling through the free trade zone of my city and passing the perfumeries, I stumbled upon one carrying Lalique fragrances. After reading reviews and taking advantage of the good price, I bought two: Amethyst and L’Insoumis. As it was one of the latest launches, I tested it on my skin and noted its freshness and woody notes. Over time, bergamot, lavender and rosemary predominated, evoking the style of Solo by Loewe. It feels neat, formal and elegant without losing lightness, ideal for the office.
Green, woody and citrusy, a delight at a fair price that inevitably reminds me of Terre d’Hermès, just a touch sweeter but without going overboard. I agree with hazinto: that undeclared note of ripe orange makes it ideal for rainy autumn days, when everything slows down and fills with melancholy. I believe it is a scent for mature individuals, or those with enough experience for the memory of what has been lived to overwhelm you with nostalgia; a smell of wet earth and fleeting drops of water, playing out invisible paths on the other side of the window glass.
Green, woody, and citrusy, a delight at a reasonable price that reminds me of Terre d’Hermès, just a touch sweeter but not cloying. I agree with hazinto: that note of dried orange makes it ideal for rainy autumn days, when everything slows down and there’s a nostalgia for wet earth and fleeting water. I think it’s for mature people or those with enough experience to appreciate that scent of history and memories behind the window glass.
Second blind purchase from Lalique after Encre Noire and second joy. L’insoumis seems to me a fresh and woody semi-classic fragrance with a very special touch that does not remind me of any other.
When I first bought it, I thought it smelled of pure lemon and struggled to get used to it, but then my nose found that woodland, damp, herbal-citrus path that leads to a classy, very contemporary freshness. It won me over on the second or third wear, revealing its beauty and originality. The bottle is one of the most beautiful I own. Scent 9.0, projection is good for three hours, and longevity is six on skin, eight on clothes. It works brilliantly in the heat, but it’s super versatile and can also be worn in winter or at night.
When I bought it, one of my favourites, it initially seemed like a lemon extract and I struggled to understand it. Gradually, my nose found the path: a woody, earthy, damp, herbal, and citrusy scent that leads to a highly pleasant freshness, with great class and different from today’s trends, yet very current. It has conquered me, not on the first try, but eventually I found its captivating beauty and originality. The bottle is one of the most beautiful I own. Scent 9.0. Projection 3 hours well. Longevity: 6 hours on skin, perhaps 8 on clothes. Heat suits it very well, ideal for that climate, but it is very versatile and I do not see why not use it in winter or at night.
Finally managed to get it at a good price, €26, and like everything from Lalique, it doesn’t disappoint. It’s the house that handles vetiver best, here worked in a more subtle yet magnificent way, alongside an incredible spiced moss. It smells of damp forest and clove. The only drawback is that its performance is discreet, with short throw, so I think it will suit spring very well.
Finally, I got it at a reasonable price, 26€, and like everything from Lalique, it does not disappoint. It is the house that treats vetiver best (as in Encre Noire), here worked in a more subtle but equally magnificent way, alongside a spectacular spiced moss. It smells of a damp forest, clove. The only drawback is its performance: discreet, it is a short-distance perfume that will suit spring perfectly.
The name is eye-catching, but this EDT is worlds away from being radical. I smell it as a classic, spring-like green-woody scent, clean and well-blended. On the first test, I thought of the citrus notes in Sauvage, but with much more softness. Then a mossy, aniseed, and woody accord settles, giving it elegance and discretion, hallmarks of other works by the house. They have turned the classic fougère around, replacing the animalic with the clean (undeclared ambroxan?). If you like Chanel’s Egoiste Platinum, this will make your heart skip a beat. It is a refined hybrid for spring, autumn, and not-too-hot summer nights. Discreet performance, elegant but for personal enjoyment, clinging to the skin after the second hour (one arm away at the start). It is worth it if you find it for less than 40 or 50 euros; it wins you over with time. I have worn three bottles in three years. The bottle is beautiful and almost a collectible object.
My first review of Lalique and I confess I have an unconditional love for the house. The perfume opens citrusy and herbal, indifferent at first, but after half an hour the resinous aspect of the woods emerges with a liquorish touch that dominates the following four hours. It does not have brutal projection, only thirty centimetres, and weak sillage. In subsequent uses, my nose detects a nearly expired cheese aroma bathed in orange, probably due to that liquorish touch. It is woody, formal, and for those over thirty. Ideal for morning work and daytime dates; I do not recommend it for night due to its moderate sillage. Its best moments are early autumn and spring. The woody notes predominate with a slight alcoholic touch, elegant and discreet.
My first review of Lalique, and I confess I have an unconditional love for the house. The perfume opens citrusy and herbal, indifferent at first, then settles after half an hour before the resinous woods emerge with a liquorish touch that dominates the next four hours on skin. It doesn’t have a brutal projection, only about 30 cm, and the trail is weak. Sometimes, with repeated wear, it smells almost like old cheese bathed in orange due to that liquorish note. It’s woody, elegant, and discreet for those over 30, ideal for work and daytime dates, not for night due to its moderate trail. Its best moments are the start of autumn and spring.
I just bought it and, like everything from Lalique, it is muuuuy good. It opens citrusy and alcoholic, then comes out the lavender and woods with moss. Very fresh, with a bit of similarity to Lalique White. It does not have much projection, but it lasts quite a while. I loved it; the only detail is that the name does not fit its stature.
L’insoumis by Lalique is unique, although it recalls niches such as Straight to Heaven by Kilian. It smells of herbs (basil, vetiver, patchouli, moss) and woods with a light floral touch (lavender, statice). It brings to mind vintage aromas, fougères, or barbershop scents from the 70s and 80s. The opening rum note is light and disappears quickly. It is fresh, versatile, and serves as a signature scent all year round. Moderate longevity (4-5 hours on my skin, little sillage) and very accessible (25-40€ for 100ml, look for good prices in Spain). It does not project to attract attention, but it is all controlled. Ideal for mature, confident, and discreet men who want to smell charming without being overwhelming. Keep it for daily routine and not for going out at night.
I will be brief: Fierce by Abercrombie is a barbershop-style cologne, masculine and reliable. It has a youthful masculine vibe and is versatile all year round. Longevity is not its strong suit and projection is decent, although you can overapply. I recommend it if you want to smell different and cut through the sweet scent overload that is currently abundant.
An elegant and refined proposal from Lalique. It opens with spicy bergamot, sweet lavender, and a spiced rum note enhanced by pepper; everything is very balanced and homogeneous. Sage adds an ethereal green touch. It evolves quickly (within an hour) into a soft vetiver and a non-musty, more woody and creamy patchouli. It is a modern classic that blends liquor and office, old and new. A special and portable companion with a silent melancholy. Discreet performance but enough to last an outing.
My relationship with Lalique is complicated: they are masterpieces that die on my skin. This fragrance does not escape the rule. It smells of deep nostalgia, perhaps due to that patchouli and herbal basil which, although exquisite, depress me. It is not modern; it is old-school. It is the best basil I have tried, but without rum notes and with poor performance. A nostalgic jewel that fades quickly.
