Looking back on the summer, Marinis is the one I’ve worn most on hot days, and it’s exactly then that it shines brightest. It’s a blend of lemon and grape juice boosted by a quite salty sea water; luckily, there’s no hint of laurel, which doesn’t suit me in fragrances. Given the quality-to-price ratio, it’s a fantastic option.
The opening smells odd, very algal, truly marine with a touch of anise; I’m sure it’s the laurel mixed with another note. At first, there’s a lot of laurel; I’m not sure if I like it, but it’s fresh, it’s summer. The initial projection is good, more than a metre and a half. After ten minutes, a strange phase kicks in, a sweet part loaded with grape that’s very noticeable; I think it doesn’t fit; right now that sea-sweet sensation makes no sense. It’s not unpleasant, simply it doesn’t fit, although it is quite unique. Then the marine-mint combination takes over with very pleasant bursts; the mint reminds me of AdP Colonia Club, almost giving a more spicy-cotton feel than a sharp mint. It’s a simple marine scent, easy to wear and with surprises in the first stage. After three hours it seems to have gone, but it holds on, diffused yet present like a fresh breeze forming a pleasant bubble. Scent: 7/10 Longevity: 6/10 Projection: 6.9/10 Emotional: Not original.
