Boiled it down to the price and it hasn’t let me down. The opening smells like a medicinal spray, akin to Reflex, as if the vibe of Montblanc Explorer came straight from a disinfectant. It lasts a few minutes, but it’s when it dries down that it really shines: it smells very similar to Aventus and is pleasant. Projection and longevity are good for the first two hours, and close to the skin it’s noticeable until morning. It’s a quality synthetic. For the price, I prefer this to the Explorer; it reminds me of it greatly, but this dries down better. I love the opening of the Explorer, which smells like Aventus, but the dry-down smells of sweat and doesn’t work for me.
I absolutely love this perfume, it’s very good. I wish they would make a Parfum version.
I bought it on the recommendation of a third party who said it was in the line of Creed Aventus (though I don’t know what that actually smells like). However, upon smelling it, the first thing I thought of was mentholated foot powder. A total disappointment. It’s nothing like what I expected. I don’t recommend buying blindly, even at a relatively low price.
I don’t understand this perfume. It doesn’t smell good and I don’t know what occasion to use it for. It reminds me too much of a Reflex-style slap spray. I don’t know what they were aiming for, but for me it’s a fiasco, the biggest one from Mauboussin.
