Molinard de Molinard has reinvented itself to bring to market a beautiful and dazzling full-fledged floral fragrance. It’s true that lately this house has been serving up a menu of a lot of sweet and gourmand fragrances, but here what we have is a true gentleman offering us flowers, green notes and purity. Its opening is quite powerful where my nose trembles with the bergamot but with the lovely galbanum and the other flowers it softens and shows us a floral from another era but with fruity and even mystical touches because that modern incense sprinkled with freshness shows us a fragrance that winks at yesterday but stands with both feet firmly in today. In its middle phase the sweetness of ylang and I think already part of the amber with that Molinard patchouli touch, not pretentious at all but very noticeable, makes it a perfume with a very, very defined character, not at all sluggish in time but clearly stating that yesterday can be more than fashionable, it can be a wonderful trend. In its drydown, which on my skin takes forever to arrive (more than 8 hours), we already have a declared amber with a beautiful earthy vetiver part, dominant, with ease but strong. A beautiful Floral of This Era, with marked fruity strokes but with the beauty of the times when people went to the countryside with dresses, wicker baskets and chequered tablecloths. Beautiful. I want it. I’ll use the little sample to remind myself that as soon as I spot it, it’s coming home, and it will be hard because I can’t find it anywhere on the internet, only in its official shop. A 10 for MOLINARD.
Molinard has refreshed its range with a stunning, beautiful floral fragrance. While the house has recently leaned heavily into sweet and gourmand scents, here we have a true gentleman offering flowers, green notes, and purity. The opening is powerful; my nose trembles at the bergamot, yet galbanum and other florals temper it, revealing a floral from another era with fruity and mystical touches thanks to that modern, fresh incense. It nods to the past while keeping its feet firmly on the ground. In the heart, Molinard’s non-pretentious yet unmistakable blend of Ylang Ylang, amber, and a touch of patchouli gives it a defined character without dragging on, yet declaring that the past can be very much in fashion. The dry-down takes ages to arrive (over 8 hours); it is a gorgeous, commanding, and sturdy amber-vetiver. A floral of this time with fruity hints and the beauty of days spent in the countryside with dresses and baskets. Simply gorgeous; I want it. I’ll use the sample to buy it, as I can’t find it online, only in their official store. A 10 for MOLINARD.
