Descripción

Musc Shamal by Giorgio Armani is an oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2019, this olfactive composition was created by perfumer Julie Massé. Its opening features aldehydes and citrus notes that give way to a floral and musky heart where rose and jasmine intertwine, while the base reveals a warm and persistent blend of amber, vanilla, and cedar.

A brutal fragrance with a kilometre-long trail and an air of pure distinction. It lingers on skin and clothes for up to a week. It has that same vibe as its sibling Turquoise, evoking glamour and status. At €230, it’s every penny worth; such a distinctive scent is sure to leave an impression, and few will smell the same. I tried it once and it’s already on my wishlist.

Right, this perfume works for me. It’s very well made and a perfect unisex choice: ideal for a man or a woman with a distinguished, masculine touch without being over the top. It’s not floral, fruity, sweet or citrusy; it’s the kind that becomes my favourite precisely because I can’t classify it. What does it smell like? Exquisite musk. There’s a slight menthol kick, but it’s dense, penetrating the nose, with aldehydes from start to finish. It dries down a bit powdery, leaving a blend of musk, cedar, amber and quite powdery vanilla. The vanilla isn’t sweet, just adds warmth. Projection is short, about a metre, but it lasts 7 or 8 hours on skin. It could be your signature scent; it’s different and captivating. It seems illogical to spend so much on everyday wear, but even more so to spend that on special occasions if you don’t wear it often.

Well… I like this perfume! It’s very well made, a perfect unisex scent for both men and women with a distinguished, masculine touch that doesn’t feminise them; it would give a girl something truly interesting. It’s not floral, not fruity, not sweet or citrusy – it’s that kind of perfume that’s my favourite because I can’t quite describe or classify it. What does it smell like? Musk. An exquisite musk, with a slightly mentholated opening, but a dense, non-fresh menthol that settles in your nose, alongside the aldehydes present from start to finish. It dries down a bit powdery, leaving an exquisite combination of musk, cedar, amber and quite powdery vanilla on the skin. The vanilla isn’t sweet at all; it adds warmth but you don’t really smell its scent. The projection isn’t very strong, around 1m, and it lasts on the skin for about 7 or 8 hours. It could be your signature fragrance perfectly – it’s different and captivating. It seems illogical to spend what a bottle of this fragrance costs for everyday wear, but if you think about it, it’s more illogical to spend that amount on a fragrance you only use on special occasions and enjoy little of because you rarely wear it.

  • Smells clean, soapy and creamy, like straight out of the bath after rubbing in a gel that leaves the skin super moisturised. The vanilla is very noticeable, but not sweet; rather, it’s like an addition to that soap. Is it worth paying this price for a soapy scent? It depends on everyone; in my case, an emphatic yes. Usually, soapy fragrances overdo the musk and end up feeling powdery, but not here; its value lies in the balance. It’s versatile, ideal for any weather and season, with very good longevity. It held up well through an office day without overpowering desk mates, just leaving a subtle intimate trail. The downside is the price, though they often run sales since they know they’ve priced it too high.

  • It smells clean, soapy and creamy, as if you’ve just stepped out of the shower with a hydrating gel. You can detect the vanilla, but not sweetly, rather as an addition to the soap. Is it worth paying this price for a soapy scent? It depends; in my case, an emphatic yes. Usually, soapy scents overdo the musk and end up powdery; here there’s balance. It’s versatile, suitable for all weather and seasons, with good longevity. It lasts a whole day at the office without overpowering colleagues at the desk. The only downside is the price, although they tend to offer deals since they know they’ve overcharged by a country mile.
