My experience with El Cómplice was in solid form, and in fact it is the only solid perfume I have in my collection. My partner gave it to me and until that moment I didn’t even know that perfumes existed in this format, so at first I was quite excited about both the novelty and the presentation. The concept is interesting: a portable perfume, easy to carry and reapply at any time. Also, the case is very nice and feels well built. However, over time I discovered that I simply couldn’t get used to the format. I understand its advantages, but personally I still prefer traditional perfumes in atomizer form. Regarding the scent, I think it’s quite good. I would describe it as clean, woody, and with a clearly modern identity. I wouldn’t say it directly resembles any particular perfume, but it does remind me of the line of fragrances like Dylan Blue, Polo Blue, or CDN Iconic. Not because they share the same scent, but because they convey a similar feeling: fresh, clean, versatile perfumes with an aquatic, marine, and woody profile that works very well for everyday use. It also has a slight powdery touch that gives it a quite pleasant clean feeling. As for performance, in my experience it lasts around 2 or 3 hours, although considering that you can carry it in your pocket and reapply easily, it ends up being a characteristic of the format rather than a problem. Would I recommend it? Yes, but I would probably recommend the bottle version more than the solid one. My main problem today is not the scent or the format, but the price. I have seen the 50 ml version around 80 dollars and the solid one around 40 dollars, and being completely honest, I don’t think the product justifies those prices. It is a pleasant and well-crafted fragrance, but at those prices there are too many alternatives that offer more for the money.
