The opening is juicy from the very first second, with that blend of mango and passionfruit that seem freshly picked… bright, sweet, and slightly tart all at once. After a few minutes, the fruit loses its fresh pulp sheen and melts into flowers that add a touch of elegance. The jasmine here isn’t dramatic; it’s a white veil that tames the tropicality and lends a more serene shape. The evolution doesn’t stop there; once the perfume has settled, a new interplay of notes emerges, making it creamier, more nostalgic, and more intimate. Even in its dry-down, it seems to evoke the scent of damp earth warming under the sun after a summer shower. Nirmala reminds me of a tropical walk at dusk, when there’s still light but the day is announcing its end. You decide to head home, round the corner, and catch a glimpse of your favourite cocktail bar. Through the glass, you see a woman taking a sip of a golden drink. You’re tempted to taste her flavour and, almost without thinking, decide to take a seat by the sea to discover that cocktail. That perfume is that light joy that invites you to stray from the path, to improvise, and to savour the unexpected.

The jasmine isn’t dramatic; it’s a white veil that tames the tropical heat. As it settles, it becomes creamy, nostalgic and intimate. In the final phase, it smells of wet earth under the sun after a summer storm. Nirmala is a tropical stroll at dusk, with light but signalling the end of the day. As you turn the corner, you see your favourite bar and a woman sipping a golden cocktail through the glass. You feel compelled to try it and sit down with a view of the sea. It’s that light joy that invites you to stray, to improvise and to savour the unexpected.
As a lover of tropical scents, Nirmala is simply fantastic. The opening is incredible, featuring plenty of passion fruit and a zesty grapefruit note that saves it from the typical cloying sweetness of modern tropical fragrances. It’s not a sugary gourmand flooding the market; it has real personality. As it dries down, the passion fruit recedes and less beachy notes emerge, making it elegant and urban. It’s my top find from Molinard this year and my favourite from the French house.
As a huge fan of tropical scents, I absolutely adore Nirmala. Its opening is sensational, with lots of passionfruit accented by that zesty grapefruit note that sets it apart from the overly sweet tropicals flooding the market. This is far from one of those sugar-coated gourmands; Nirmala has real character and isn’t your typical beachy fragrance. As it dries down, the passionfruit recedes considerably, giving way to more sophisticated notes that feel elegant and urban rather than summery. For me, it’s the standout discovery from Molinard this year and my favourite perfume from this French house.
