  1. To be honest, this is the quintessential office scent. Modest projection but optimal longevity; note that it lasts longer on clothes than on skin. Olfactorily, it’s a spectacle: serious, masculine and mature. I can’t pinpoint an exact age, though I notice many people find it basic unless worn with a specific outfit. Generally worn by both young people and adults, but more so the latter; with personality and good style, you become a jewel.

  2. What a magnificent fragrance, especially for the price. It has that magic that transports you straight back to the 90s, to those dinners with your old friends where they’d have a little whisky. It smells like a leather jacket stored in the wardrobe mixed with a very pleasant touch of wood. I’d say it’s for someone over 30 or 35. It’s warm, elegant and classic. Ideal for autumn and winter, and in spring/summer only in the evening if it’s cool, like by the coast.

One of my favourites among the low/mid-range options in Argentina. It’s like opening a wooden cabinet from a grandmother’s house filled with whisky and liquor bottles: a warm aroma, perfect for daily use in autumn and winter. Projection and trail are moderate, lasting between 4 and 6 hours.

Exquisite fragrance. A top-quality opening, one that you truly enjoy and get lost in (perhaps due to the whisky?). I’m not sure if it’s the blend, but after half an hour, a base of cedar, or rather pencil wood, becomes noticeable. Delicious. Unfortunately, after an hour, only the memory remains if you rub your nose hard against the skin. In summary, it’s a snapshot of what a great film would be, but it never becomes the film itself. Due to the poor performance, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Pure magic; it offers far more than you pay for and surpasses many designer perfumes.

  6. To be honest, it doesn’t last for me at all. When I tried it in the perfumery, it lasted several hours on the skin, perhaps because it was the first time: a rich, aged whisky with a tremendous opening. But nothing like the full bottle I bought afterwards (almost certainly reformulated); I barely smell any wardrobe leather and a very faint liquor with lavender, everything very soft. As others have commented, there are launch batches and it’s not always available. The original batch with the hype lasts the longest; recent batches disappear within two hours. My advice: use it only on cold days, reinforcing with deodorant, or carry a decant to apply to the collar of your jacket. In my opinion, it had better times and isn’t worth buying new due to the lack of longevity.

Not worth it for 2025. It was brilliant until they reformulated it in 2023. Now it barely lasts.

As of 2025, it’s not worth it. It was excellent and one of the best in Argentina until they reformulated it in 2023. These days, it doesn’t last at all.

Bought two months ago. Rich, but the longevity is practically non-existent; I can’t smell it even close to the skin after two hours. Given the stated notes, what it tries to emulate and its reputation, it should have more potency, even being cheap. I’ll let it settle for a while and see if my review changes in a few months (I hope so).

  10. Short: A friend owns CH Men Privé and prefers Giesso 01 by a long shot. Smelled side by side, any differences would be in the opening, as after a minute they transform into the same fragrance. 11/10.

What a delightful perfume. Leather, elegant and highly sophisticated, it offers the best of low cost in Argentina, edging on being the best. Suitable for elegant formal situations and dates; it is a perfume for mature, very confident people over 35 years old. Simply beautiful.

The best of the national commercial perfumery. Mature and attractive aroma, it doesn’t go unnoticed. It has an alcoholic note at the start and then mutates into something woody. As soon as you apply it, it projects a lot and has good projection for the first hour; afterwards, it stays closer, not necessarily to the skin, where it remains for a long time. On clothes, it gets impregnated until you wash them. A great perfume; for the price, you can’t ask for more.

Beautiful perfume, a signature scent for winter. It is incredible that with its price it has such a delicious and valuable aroma; I cannot believe how tasty the scent is. I would love the opportunity one day to try CH Men Privé so I can compare this perfume with it. Thanks to this perfume, I started my addiction to perfumery. Recommended 10/10.

An exquisite perfume. If you are looking for an alternative to CH Men Privé at a bargain price, here it is! It is a liquor with sweet touches of tonka bean, and to my nose it seems to have a hint of cinnamon, cardamom and subtle leather in the base. Performance is more than acceptable with 4-5 hours on skin and moderate projection of almost a metre; I would say it is ideal for a very casual date out in winter or autumn.

  15. This perfume is the best! Serious, sober, it seems like a much more expensive aroma. Those leather notes give it the charm. Very stylish perfume! For a white shirt and a black leather jacket.

  16. One of my favourite perfumes, although I do not use it much because I live in Formosa (an extremely hot place). It mixes the sweet notes of whisky with grapefruit and lavender in a very fine and elegant way. Ideal for the cold, or for days that are not too cold (15 to 20 degrees). Although it is a perfume with a lot of ‘personality’, do not skimp on the sprays (I would say 8 to 10) as, obviously, it is not a beast in terms of longevity or projection -normal for how cheap the perfume is-. I think it is very difficult for anyone not to like it. It is sweet, pleasant and clean. I would say it is a blind buy.

  17. I bought it on a trip to Buenos Aires at a ridiculously low price. The other day I went to a shop and tested it to see if it was the same as CH Men Prive by Carolina Herrera. I applied Giesso on one wrist and CH on the other… conclusion? It is 95% similar in aroma, which is incredible, but the performance surprised me the most… it lasted almost the same! So if you do not have either, go for Giesso because the other will not give you back the ten times more it costs.

Tasty? Yes. Cheap? Also. Longevity? Halfway there. If you do not have a sope, this is your king. My fragrance for everyday wear in winter. Spray it on your clothes and carry a perfume bottle and you are set.

Rich? Yes. Cheap? Also yes. Longevity? Mediocre. If you don’t have a top note, this is where you’ll find it, mate. Ideal for everyday winter wear. Spray it on your clothes, carry a travel atomiser, and you’re set.

  20. This aroma is incredible for the little price paid. It is impossible not to like it; it is simply delicious. I have several designer perfumes and yet this is the one my partner likes the most. That said, it is for use on fresh days. A real gem.

  23. What a delightful surprise this perfume is… I’ve been enjoying it so much… I recommend using it solely in autumn and winter, comfortably as a signature scent. The aroma is very masculine; I only detect the whisky note at the start; then it evolves into a spectacular sweetness. With 8 sprays, you’re good to go. The price-to-quality ratio seems unbeatable. Long live Argentina!

  25. Smells absolutely delicious and high quality, projecting that bohemian yet elegant man. Its notes of benzoin, leather, tonka bean, and whisky create a creamy, sweet, and woody leather scent, bathed in alcohol that gives it a nocturnal and masculine edge. It’s not very versatile; it shines in mild climates, especially autumn nights; ideal for romantic plans, shows, or hanging out with friends, but not for clubs as it becomes unnoticeable. It wears well, isn’t invasive, women find it sexy, and due to its softness, it can also be worn in the office. The 2024 batches with 8 sprays last between 6 and 7 hours on skin, projecting well for the first two. On clothes, it lasts up to 12 hours and the trail revives with a breeze. In terms of quality and price, you can’t ask for more; it’s a must-buy. It’s the best dupe of the discontinued Carolina Herrera CH Men Privé and thanks to the cardamom, it reminds me of YSL La Nuit de l’Homme. The vanilla notes are subtle, nothing like Bentley for Men Intense or Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privée, so don’t buy it if you’re looking for that.

The 2024 batches last around six to seven hours on skin with eight sprays, projecting well for the first two. On clothes, it lasts up to twelve hours and revives with a breeze. Impeccable value for money, a must-buy without a second thought. The spicy notes aren’t like those in Bentley for Men Intense or Gentleman Reserve Privée by Givenchy, so don’t buy it expecting that; the Giesso notes are subtle.

It opens with spiced whisky, then moves to sweet leather. It’s not a sticky sweet, but warm and spiced. A good perfume. It’s a bit pricey now, but when I could get it for $25, it was the best value for money. Suitable for everyday wear. For nights out, it lacks potency unless you apply generously, but the scent lasts into the evening anyway. Any weather except summer.

Can be perfectly used as a winter signature fragrance and on cold autumn days. A whisky scent that is pleasing and turns dark with its evolution.
