No.12 Oud Douze by Thomas Kosmala: A Refined Oud Fragrance for Everyone

Thomas Kosmala presents No.12 Oud Douze, a new unisex fragrance launching in 2026. This creation combines the depth of oud with the freshness of rose and saffron, offering a unique scent experience.

With a rating of 4.1 out of 5 based on 30 reviews, No.12 Oud Douze is a sophisticated option for those in search of a perfume with character. Its composition balances spicy and woody notes with a sweet, musky base.

The top notes of rose and saffron deliver a bright, slightly spicy opening. The rose, floral and elegant, intertwines with the warm, aromatic saffron, creating an alluring start.

In the heart, patchouli leaves add an earthy, green nuance, while sandalwood and amber provide creaminess and warmth. This blend creates a soft, enveloping core that draws you in.

The base rests on oud wood, the undeniable star, accompanied by vanilla and musk. The resinous, deep oud is softened by the sweetness of vanilla and the sensuality of musk, leaving a lasting and memorable trail.

Key accords include oud, roses, warm spicy, patchouli, woody, powdery, musky, amber, metallic, and floral. This variety allows the fragrance to evolve on the skin, revealing different aspects throughout the day.

No.12 Oud Douze is a versatile fragrance, suitable for formal and evening occasions, but it can also be worn during the day with moderation. Its sillage is moderate, and its longevity is remarkable, lasting over eight hours.

This fragrance is aimed at men and women who appreciate woody and spicy scents with a floral touch. It is ideal for those seeking a distinctive perfume without being overpowering, perfect for temperate or cold climates.

In summary, No.12 Oud Douze is a well-crafted creation that combines the nobility of oud with the freshness of rose. Its quality and versatility make it a great addition to any collection, especially for fans of modern orientals.

Very similar to Passionfroudh, but a little less jovial. If Passionfroudh is a full smile showing teeth, No. 12 is the smile of the Mona Lisa. Both have similar longevity and projection (i.e., considerable), although in my opinion Passionfroudh lasts a bit longer. If you already have Passionfroudh, it can be very redundant to acquire this one (that’s someone who has both telling you). Competing with Passionfroudh, in my opinion, it doesn’t win (you smell more quality in Passionfroudh), but it comes close.

It has the base of No. 4 in the opening but much more subtle and in a totally different direction. It smells cheerful but elegant, with a base that envelops all the time. Perfect for nights or evenings with temperate or cold weather, where I live it’s always very hot but this perfume in high-altitude cities or in winter must be the perfume with the most aura. The OUD is present all the time but it’s not a dense, heavy oud, it’s a particular and very enjoyable OUD. It’s not a blind buy if you don’t like OUD, but recommended if you’re one of those who like a woody base and a bright, cheerful heart. A monster perfume, I wore it in an enclosed space and I myself could smell from meters how it projected like crazy but without bothering anyone. It’s Thomas Kosmala, you know what you’re getting. It’s not for the shy but for the cheerful! Aroma: 9.9 Longevity 10/10 Sillage 10/10 Versatility 7.5
