It resembles Noir Argent (without patchouli) and Fahrenheit Absolute (without violet). This fragrance, costing around €300, has a serious rival in the house: AdP Mirra (which isn’t cheap either). It is much more of a cologne, more rounded, and performs better. I love the note family (not the prices), but I find this one a bit redundant.
Note di Colonia III is a jewel that stands apart from typical Acqua di Parma colognes, housed in a bottle reminiscent of Hermes. It opens with a modern, sweet, highly sensual and seductive yet serious scent, devoid of coquettishness or arbitrariness, beginning with citrusy mandarin notes. It then gains oriental and spicy nuances from ginger, offering a sophisticated, uncommon sweet heat. Soft, elegant notes of jasmine and tempered tonka bean emerge, alongside frankincense that smells neither of temple nor medicine, never overly smoky or sweet. Despite common ingredients, it is unusual and captivating due to its self-expression. I didn’t detect vetiver or earthiness. The longevity is good, thanks to the frankincense, tonka bean, and myrrh. The price is ridiculous, though the quality is evident (thanks to the legendary Carlos).
It’s a marvel from the house; I use it only in autumn and winter, and at night. Sometimes I put it on after a bath to sleep in it, as it’s a pleasure to wear.
