It smells of pine, wood, and a touch of sweet citrus… very delicious and nothing common.
I love this fragrance; it’s so authentic sweet with a base yet something new and futuristic—I don’t know how to describe it haha—and with a woody touch very elegant and sensual.
I love it; it’s authentic, sweet with a base that sounds new and futuristic, with a very elegant and sensual woody touch.
Obsession Night is an almost masculine fragrance. Not from a woody or soapy point of view but in the style of a celebrity scent like King of Seduction Absolute by Antonio Banderas. A fruity oriental amber vanilla fragrance for men. It opens rough bitter and fruity with the owner being a hideous fruity bergamot. In the second phase you feel a swarm with balsamic hints wanting to be a fruity chypre but failing to reach its sweetness with notes of fruity papyrus and dirty freezer until the dry-down which is somewhere between sweet musky and fresh. It’s one of those cases where a fragrance labelled as feminine is completely masculine under new standards. Users of club-style oriental scents will like it; also Night is too big a name because it has a marked daily character. By the way it’s already discontinued. What’s curious is that if you follow the advertising with that naked couple in a pond at night or the bottle with its nice twilight blue colour you expect something sophisticated yet refreshing with touches of angelica carnation rosewood lavender muguet lily of the valley or woods. And nothing of the sort. If they had put a man in a suit entering an office in the campaign it wouldn’t be misleading.
The amber colour of Obsession turns midnight blue, but they have nothing in common. It starts with non-sweet aromatic notes of bergamot and orange. The unusual thing is that against that freshness appears a bitter, herbal angelica that makes it excessively masculine, and I love it. Then come watery white florals like gardenia and lily, giving it an elegant, powdery touch that balances towards the feminine. In the base, cashmere wood combined with angelica and tonka bean retains the initial freshness, along with vanilla and sandalwood that reinforce the creaminess. It’s a woody scent aromatised with citrus, herbs, and flowers over a vanilla base. Very original, elegant, and nothing simple. It’s unisex, as Calvin Klein has us accustomed to. For spring, summer, and autumn nights, or less hot days due to its astringent character. A fresh, relaxing, and balsamic aroma that I love on my skin, tired of overly sweet scents; it’s sensual for its naturalness, free of artifice. A soft but persistent trail, about eight hours. I think it’s undervalued and needs to be sought with insistence; its price is a laugh and it’s sadly discontinued. It evokes a night walk in a historic park, feeling the breeze between the trees, the water from the fountains, and the morning dew on flowers opening at midnight. A real treat.
Obsession Night is almost masculine, but not because it’s woody or soapy, but in the style of celebrity fragrances like Antonio Banderas’s. It’s an oriental fruity fougère with a vanilla twist for men. It opens rough, bitter, and fruity with a hideous bergamot. Then comes a balsamic swarm trying to be a fruity chypre but never quite reaching its sweetness, leaving hints of fruity papyrus and a dirty freezer, until it dries down to something sweet, musky, and fresh. It’s a rare case of a female label that is totally masculine by new standards. Club oriental lovers will enjoy it; the ‘Night’ is a misnomer because it’s very daily. It’s already discontinued. If you’re guided by the advertising of the naked couple or the blue bottle, you’ll expect something sophisticated and refreshing with angelica, carnations, etc., and you’ll be wrong. If they had put a man in a suit entering an office, it wouldn’t be misleading.
The amber in Obsession turns into midnight blue with nothing in common. It starts with non-sweet citrus notes of bergamot and orange. What’s strange is that against that freshness a bitter herbal angelica emerges making it very masculine. I love it. Then white watery flowers like gardenia and lilies enter adding elegance and a powdery touch balancing it towards the feminine. At the base the queen mother is cashmere wood with angelica and tonka bean which retain the initial freshness alongside soft vanilla and sandalwood that reinforce the creaminess. It’s a citrus herb and flower-scented wood on a vanilla base. Very original nothing simple and elegant. Unisex as Calvin Klein has us accustomed to. Ideal for spring summer and autumn nights or less hot days due to its astringent character. A fresh relaxing and balsamic scent that I adore on my skin tired of overly sweet aromas; very sensual for its naturalness free from artifice. A soft but persistent trail around eight hours. I think it’s an underrated fragrance that requires persistent searching though not blindly. Its price is laughable and it’s sadly discontinued and hard to find. It evokes a night walk in a historic city park feeling the breeze among trees the coolness of water in fountains and the early morning dew on flowers opening at midnight. A real treat for the senses of anyone who can appreciate its beauty.
Forget the name; it has nothing to do with its predecessor. The opening is extremely bitter and unpleasant for the first fifteen minutes, then it softens without losing its edge. Over time, the warmth of tonka and vanilla emerges, and that’s when I truly enjoy it. It’s perfectly unisex; on a man, it seems sexier than the men’s version which smells of pine and feels more diluted. It lasts well and has a medium trail. Because of its roughness, don’t overuse it as it can sometimes get stuck in the throat and become annoying.
First let’s not be fooled by the name; it has nothing to do with its predecessor. The opening is extremely bitter a bit unpleasant for me for the first 15 minutes. Afterwards it becomes softer but without losing that roughness. Over time the warmth of tonka and vanilla emerges and that’s when I really like it. I think it’s perfectly unisex. In fact on a man this version seems sexier to me as the one labelled as masculine smells more diluted and piney. In terms of longevity it lasts without issues and its trail is moderate. Given its roughness it’s better not to overuse it as sometimes the scent lingers in the throat and is quite annoying.
It’s perfectly unisex and with that charming base, it works brilliantly in the office in temperate climates; I received several compliments. I liked it more than the men’s version.
Don’t be fooled by the midnight blue colour or the name ‘Night’. It has very little of that nocturnal or dark vibe; it’s a daytime perfume with a citrus opening, many florals, and an elegant woody base that isn’t overly sophisticated. It’s totally unisex, very typical of Calvin Klein, and has nothing to do with the CK Obsession (female version); they don’t even share any DNA. It resembles Jimmy Choo’s Illicit but without the honey and caramel. It’s not sweet at all. It’s already discontinued but can be found cheaply. I recommend it if you want something different from the trend; I wear it in spring, summer evenings, and autumn.
It’s a subtle yet persistently elegant vanilla present from the start well accompanied by a very natural citrus scent so natural you can even smell the seeds (like mandarin I suppose bitter orange). I find it a very rich perfume; it doesn’t have much of a trail but is very enjoyable for the wearer at least in my experience. After several hours the vanilla feels rich slightly spicy or fresh—I’m not sure but it’s excellent for finishing the day. I’ve used it in winter and I think it would also look great in summer.
It’s a subtle yet elegant vanilla present from the very start, accompanied by very natural citrus notes that seem like tangerine seeds. It smells delicious; it doesn’t have a huge trail but is very enjoyable. After a few hours, the vanilla turns spicy and fresh, making it ideal for closing out the day. I wore it in winter and I think it would look great in summer too.
Years ago, a friend from Chicago gifted me this in miniature and I was instantly smitten. It felt like a super sexy, sweet scent that drew me fully into the world of fragrances. I hunted it down online and what a surprise: it transported me back to my high school days with those 2ml samples I won over my first girlfriend. It’s unique, not feminine at all despite being marketed for women, and totally different from the men’s version which I don’t like. For an EDT, it lasts about seven hours with a lovely trail; it’s so seductive and intimate that it invites you to sin. 🔥
