Descripción

Orange Sanguine by Atelier Cologne is a citrus fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2011, the nose behind this composition is Ralf Schwieger. The top notes unfold blood orange, bitter orange and red mandarin; the heart reveals African geranium, Egyptian jasmine and Madagascar pepper; while the base notes settle on sandalwood, amber, tonka bean and Texas cedar.

I love this fragrance; it is very fresh with a marked orange note; undoubtedly one of the most natural I have heard. The projection is not very high unless it is a very hot day, where the trail does increase considerably, but for its type it is good. It does not have the best longevity as it is somewhat transparent, but while it lasts, it is thoroughly enjoyable. It is very personal, ideal for wearing upon returning from summer holidays. Simple and of quality.

I love it, very fresh with a marked orange note; one of the most natural I have smelled. The projection is not very high unless it is a very hot day, where the sillage increases. For its type, it is good. It does not have the best longevity as it is transparent, but while it lasts, it is much enjoyed. Very personal, ideal for wearing when leaving on summer holidays. Simple and of quality.

  • What kind of perfumery sorcery is this? xD The sensation of smelling a freshly peeled orange is hyper-realistic and impactful; I have never heard a fruit smell so natural in a fragrance. The scent is so real that you even feel that juice spurting out when you peel it, giving a strange sensation on the tongue. I agree with Drakecito’s description: once the pulp passes, it becomes slightly floral but retains its sweetness and freshness. As I am not bothered by smelling like pastries, I have no problem walking around smelling like a freshly squeezed orange.

  • Possibly the best orange fragrance I have tried, superior to Eau d’Orange Verte by Hermès. It is ‘photorealistic’, reflecting peeling the orange: acidic notes from the peel to the sweet, juicy base. It has a very soft floral note and some amber to sweeten, all very restrained. The quality and longevity are high, over five hours. Indispensable for lovers of citrus and oranges. The negative is that it is single-note and can get tiring, smelling of orange all the time. Very good.

  • Perhaps the best orange fragrance I have tried so far. In my opinion, it surpasses Hermès’ Eau d’Orange Verte. It is a ‘photorealistic’ scent that recreates the entire process of peeling an orange: from the acidic notes of the peel to the sweet, juicy base. There is a very subtle floral touch and a hint of amber to sweeten, all kept very moderate. The quality and longevity are excellent, lasting over five hours. A must-have for citrus lovers, although it can become tiring due to its one-note nature. Highly recommended!

With niche brands, I lose objectivity. Their blends are so original and ingenious that it is hard to say whether a fragrance is just good or extraordinary. As no one pays me or threatens me, I will say what I think: I LOVE THIS FRAGRANCE. I spent a long time smelling my hand. I consider it the best red blood orange fragrance in the world, just as Dior Homme Sport 2008 is the best tangerine. The geranium gives it a subtle touch. It is classy, unisex, nostalgic, soothing and inspiring. It is fresh but less so than Hermès. Nothing synthetic, very natural. It has a plus: it does not smell like obvious red blood orange, perhaps due to the geranium or jasmine. Ideal for very hot days. Thanks Cnidaria for allowing me to smell this marvel.

Since no one pays me or threatens me, I will say what I think: I LOVE THIS FRAGRANCE! I spent ages smelling my hand. Just as I consider Homme Sport 2008 the best lemon, Terre d’Hermès the best bitter orange, and Homme Cologne the best lime, this Orange Sanguine by Atelier Cologne is the best red orange in the world. The geranium adds a subtle touch. It is classy, unisex, nostalgic, soothing, and inspiring. It is fresh, though less so than Hermès’ Les Colognes collection, and nothing synthetic, very natural. It has something more than just red orange, perhaps jasmine. Ideal for hot days. PS: Thanks Cnidaria for allowing me to smell this wonder.

  • I only tested it on blotting paper. I felt a sweet orange scent that I liked, as where I live there are almost no blood or Tarocco oranges. However, the aroma disappeared very quickly. I like soft scents, but this is too much. Other light colognes like those from Jo Malone last days on the paper; this one had vanished after three hours. I feel it is not for me.

  • Rocio Basurto

I have to say I did not like it, and it is strange because I love citrus. The top notes are exquisite and very natural, the orange scent is wonderful, but on my skin it becomes very sweet in the heart and base, thanks to the tonka bean. That sweetness bothered me and reduced the naturalness. Longevity and sillage are moderate.

I must say that I did not like this fragrance, and it is strange because I love citrus. I accept that the top notes are exquisite and very natural, and well, the orange scent is wonderful. However, on my skin it becomes sweeter in the heart and especially in the dry down, probably due to the tonka bean. That sweetness became overwhelming to me, seemed too much, and in my opinion, it detracts from the naturalness of the aroma. Longevity and trail: moderate.

  • Shearwater

In my opinion, very enjoyable. I do not know what type of orange it evokes, but it feels very realistic and pleasant. It is a single-note fragrance; those seeking something complex will be disappointed, as it is almost 100% orange. Perfect for feeling fresh on hot days. Whoever passes by will think someone has just eaten an orange with their hands.

  • Anairamis

The most realistic orange I have ever smelled in a perfume. Neither too green nor too ripe, just at that perfect point of acidity and sweetness for eating. Juicy, sparkling and natural. The other notes give it stability and body, but they do not change the fragrance, which is 100% juicy and appetising orange from start to finish.

  • Anairamis

The most realistic orange I have ever heard in a fragrance! Neither too green nor too ripe, but just at that perfect point of acidity and sweetness to eat and enjoy. Juicy, sparkling, and natural. The other notes provide stability and body, but do not alter the fragrance, which consists of the juiciest, most appetising oranges from start to finish.

  • Halfway between Sorrento and Amalfi, Positano is an Italian village of the ancient Amalfi Republic, listed as a World Heritage site. John Steinbeck wrote in the 50s that ‘Positano marks you’, a dreamlike place that comes alive in nostalgia. Atelier Cologne links it to a ‘sunny breakfast in Positano’. It makes perfect sense for such a fragrance to take centre stage by the sea, surrounded by fruit trees and Mediterranean breeze. The blood orange is harvested in spring after winter frosts, giving it that reddish hue. It comes in a sober 30ml bottle with an orange leather finish. It contains one of the best orange scents ever smelled, although its longevity is short, typical of citrus, but the olfactory experience is beautiful. Italian red blood orange, Chinese geranium and Australian sandalwood. Bellissimo paesaggio di sensazioni!
