Reading My Mind is one of the best iris perfumes I have ever tried. Coming from Miguel Matos, it couldn’t have been better. I love the blend of iris with leather and spiced saffron. You can smell the almond, the dirty touch of cumin, the musk, and that discreet wood of sandalwood and patchouli at the base. Although it is an iris scent, it is neither subtle nor discreet; it is intense, with a talc-like yet piercing and slightly acidic iris that lasts longer than usual. Sometimes I hesitate to buy it (I have a finished sample) because it resembles Santi Burgas’s OIKB so much, which I own in 100ml, and I’m not sure if it has a place in my collection. Without OIKB, choosing between this and Acampora would be a torture: the elegant Santi version or the hyper-potent Acampora? A difficult choice. Ideal for winter and night outs, isex. Scent: 10, Longevity: 9, Sillage: 6, Versatility: 8, Originality: 8, Overall: 9.5

It starts a bit muddled, with something balsamic and confusing, but soon settles into an autumnal, earthy, and austere character. If it were a colour, it would be a polished wood and spice beige-brown. Suede and musk give it body while the flowers fade into the background. After half an hour, a spiced leather note with cumin appears (which doesn’t suit me very well), alongside a fine, powdery, slightly sour iris and pomegranate. A soft wood veil floats throughout, giving it a seventies vibe without being as potent as other beasts from the era. An animalistic touch rounds off the dry down. It’s a different perfume, but it hasn’t quite convinced me, and I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind.
