Secret Mystiques opens with potent myrrh, cedar, and a powdery touch of cashmere. It is then dominated by guaiac wood paired with a bitter citrus note, evolving into an amber and balsamic accord with labdanum. Grey amber provides strength while patchouli lingers in the background for support. I see this as more vintage than modern—a woody, aromatic, and spiced blend (it seems to carry nutmeg) that I would not recommend blindly. At times, it reminds me of D&G Light Blue pour Homme, which is not to my taste. At 125 euros for 75ml (166 euros for 100ml), I do not believe it justifies the price. Longevity and projection are top-notch, but I prefer other offerings from Hayari, a house with excellent fragrances that remains under the radar. Until next time!
