I hadn’t encountered a tonka bean scent quite this different from what I usually wear in years. Here, it’s more of a benzoin with vanilla in the middle. The opening is citrus-fruity but fades quickly. It has a milky tone, yet it’s not like Diesel Plus or Lanvin Oxygène. It can’t be compared to Armani Lei, which is very vanilla-heavy and smells of heliotrope; they’re distant cousins. Sensations chooses the strength of nettles: nettles in milk. That subtle milky note dominates the fragrance. It’s incredibly discreet and clings to the skin. You notice it more with movement, as if the wind helps it out. It’s modest and noble. Beautiful and totally unobtrusive, because it doesn’t seek glamour, it merely whispers.
