It’s a wonderful citrus scent with that ‘something extra’ from the osmanthus and ginger, but it’s a pity it doesn’t last longer; you have to reapply every two or three hours, so it’s a must-have in summer.
Short-lived: opens with well-seasoned, spicy ginger joining lemon, grapefruit, and lots of bergamot, with a green-woody touch that could be patchouli. Immediately reminds me of Nuit de Cellophane by S. Lutens, but here the osmanthus smells superb. It’s very aromatic, citrusy, herbal, and floral (not sweet), and quite soon dries down to dry woods and benzoin resin. After 15 minutes, there’s a ‘skin’ scent that, although noticeable, is weak between two and three hours. An excellent fragrance, but I’d wish for better performance.
Eau 3 from the Sisley Eau collection is my favourite of the three. It’s a fresh, intense chypre with great personality. I love that ginger and osmanthus scent, totally different. Natural osmanthus essence is hard to extract, made artisanally in China and bottled in Chinese porcelain; it smells intense with a slight peachy touch. The price is extremely high, so a perfume with natural osmanthus essence can never be cheap. It’s floral-fruity, but the ginger and vetiver give it a unisex character. Fixation and projection are incredible for the first three hours. It doesn’t resemble anything on the market; it smells distinct and unmistakable. For osmanthus lovers: an oriental flower with fruity tints. Highly recommended.
As soon as you spray it, it transports you to another world; it has the spark to take you away… it’s magnificently achieved with unparalleled purity. But this great performance vanishes in under half an hour and isn’t acceptable; after an hour, nothing remains. They should improve the longevity because all three are exceptional.
One of the best in my small collection. Reminds me of Light Blue, but this is pure sophistication.
