Izia by Sisley

I love it; it has that Delina air but with a slightly smoky rose. Here in Izia it is much softer and more wearable; the Delinas seem too potent for me. It is floral, talc-like on my skin, and I will be repurchasing. I got a decant, thank goodness, because the bottle feels overwhelming with that sharp opening that sometimes gives me a headache. The dry down is smoky rose, perhaps with patchouli, but I detect a medicinal touch I didn’t notice at first. I think my experience with Izia ends here.

What a disappointment! I bought it blindly trusting the good reviews and that Sisley is a guarantee, but I was completely wrong. On the wrist, the opening was unpleasant, it improved a little but I still didn’t like it. After half an hour it was hard to smell, and by an hour I felt nothing. It is a serious flaw that it lasts so little, and besides, it is one of the most unpleasant perfumes I have tried. I don’t know what to do with the bottle or how to sell it; the lost money hurts.

Exquisite. It is a white floral with wood in the dry down, super elegant, sparkling, and delicate. It opens with a slightly sharp citrus, perhaps due to the pepper, and the white flowers are noticed immediately, many of them, with a hint of soft rose in the background. As it settles, classy woods emerge. It lasts 6/7 hours on skin, projects well at the start and then fades, but in a small room it is noticeable. On clothes it lasts until washed. It puts me in a good mood; I associate it with sunny days and spring. Duration: 7/10, Sillage: 7/10, Projection: 6.5/10.

Sisley is masterful with its roses; it has its signature and Izia is no exception. It is a radiant, luminous, young, fragrant, and vibrant rose, with a velvet texture. It smells of happiness, of a sunny day with rosebuds covered in dew, intense citrus, green leaves, and acidulous sensations. Despite its youth, it has inherited lineage; it is the sister of Soir de Lune and Eau du Soir but with its own personality. There is clarity, freshness, modernity, and energy. It is a palpable, fleshy, intense, clean rose, with a woody and sweet base. It feels natural, with quality and luxury. To smell like the most refined princess. It could easily be a signature scent; I see no date or time tattooed on it; it is mouldable to any situation. On my skin it lasts 6 hours, the first two intense and then skin-scent. If you love natural roses, do not miss it.

Izia shows the personality of Sisley’s formulas. Uncommon roses with a particular variation that reminds me of chypre perfumes due to its flashes. They are not generic roses; they are ‘Sisley style’: decorated, enriched, and seasoned with powders, spices, and ointments that give them a special flavour. It has that complexity of the house, with notes that create original contrasts, turning the roses into velvet. The pepper makes it more accessible than Eau de Soir, taking away some aloofness and adding proximity and warmth. Embellishing. For noses fond of chypres (although this is not one) that seek complex and genuine formulas. *Edit: there is an atom somewhere that sometimes reminds me of the aura of Florabotanica, very small.

I can only speak to how it makes me feel. It’s a very cheerful, elegant, citrusy aroma with juicy roses and a very light sweet touch. I wear it in the mornings for work, but also on very hot summer nights. I’d highlight the bergamot, the roses, and the pink pepper. You don’t have to be an expert (which I’m not) to know it’s refined and of excellent quality. I don’t recall hearing anything like this in other perfumes. I see it as perfect for spring/summer, but also on warm, humid autumn days. The longevity is very good; on my skin it lasts about 7 hours, though I usually reapply because I love that initial sharp burst that disappears in a few minutes. It’s a beautiful, sparkling perfume worth trying.

Wonderful. Fresh roses in a vase of water. I thought it would be great for summer, but today it’s 10°C and it stands out even more, lifting anyone’s spirits. The bottle is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen, in total harmony with the contents.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The more you use it, the more you like it. At first, I didn’t like the opening; very aldehydic and strong, unpleasant to my nose. But over time, I was amazed by the heart notes, like a rainbow, the smell of a rose with a solar halo. Then it dries down to citrus and lasts six hours. I recommend trying before buying. Try it, there’s nothing like it!

Let me tell you my story with Izia. A year ago I was given a sample. Several months later I tried it for a work dinner and the surprise was that after a long time all my colleagues asked what perfume I was wearing, and the truth is I didn’t even remember the name. When I got home, my husband asked what perfume I’d used and immediately said, ‘Please buy it’. I forgot that anecdote, but a week ago I thought about what perfume to buy for summer. I couldn’t remember which sample it was, but, like magic, the Sisley stand appeared and ohhhh I knew which jewel it was: Izia. So different, so elegant, so cheerful. Dear Isabel, I think you will be my signature perfume for a long time.

But what an energetic and dazzling scent is this? After having my olfactory senses accustomed to linear fragrances, all similar to one another… smelling something so different, so sparkling and cheerful suddenly fills you with energy and optimism. Yes, to such an extent is this perfume powerful. It’s very potent but with cheerful, acidic, youthful notes… and with incredible longevity and trail. I’ve loved it. Finally something different! I love it for any time of year and situation. Wonderful!

It was a birthday gift. I’d never tried any Sisley fragrance, although I had used some of their creams. Despite some ‘bad’ reviews, in summary I’d say I liked it quite a bit. It’s a floral citrus scent in which I smell mostly bergamot, peony, and rose. Even though it’s a fragrance that smells very floral on my skin, it constantly maintains that citrus touch. It gives you a boost of energy every time you put it on. Moreover, to have such a soft and fresh scent, it surprisingly lasts all day without any problems. The bottle has colours that remind me of a sunset from yellow to pink, a gradient with very cheerful colours that is the same sensation this fragrance produces in me. I think it’s a super wearable and versatile fragrance for daily use, work, the gym, and casual meet-ups, and I doubt it will disgust many people regarding the scent. It’s perfect when you feel like splashing it on, but it’s true it would have its TOP moment in spring/summer. It is true I think it might be overpriced, but like many perfumes of this type that tend to smell pleasant and soft (a great example are Jo Malone fragrances which smell good but last a sigh and are worth a fortune, which I do think is a rip-off), at least Izia has very good longevity. In fact, if I smelled it without being given the bottle, I’d say it’s a fragrance Jo Malone could have released fixing all its defects regarding longevity; only that Izia would be worth it. To me, it’s a zero-teeny scent and very pleasant. Without a doubt, I’d give it a chance.

Chapter II of Sisley: Izia. If time travel existed, its fuel would be this perfume. It takes me back to my childhood with my grandmother’s perfumes and her rose garden in Eastern Europe, then to my adolescence with the gardens of Southern France. It reminds me of Miss Charming by Juliette Has a Gun. Francis Kurkdjian used a Moroccan rose, Isabelle a mysterious French one; here they fruitify it, make it capricious, and wrap it in cedar, angelica, and lily. It’s noble and soothing, conveying inner peace. It doesn’t demand exhibition, but interiorisation. Izia, the diminutive of Isabelle in Polish, is the princess in her own house. I’m not surprised many Spaniards find it unattractive; the Mediterranean summer kills it. It needs freshness and humidity. On my skin, it’s long-lasting and the trail is heavy. The bottle looks like a sailboat illuminated by a gradient sunset. It’s a masterpiece that shines with the light.

Targeted at young women, Sisley modernises with something fresh and optimistic. Well-blended natural essences: a delicate, acidic rose paired with intense bergamot. Pink pepper gives it a sparkling touch. Ideal for the day, whether informal or semi-formal. It radiates joy and is brilliant for work if you’re extroverted. The trail is contagious and the longevity is good. Another success for Sisley.

I tried it and found it extremely unpleasant due to its acidity. An acidic floral. I can’t describe exactly what it smells like, but the scent it left on my wrist annoyed me quite a bit. The aroma is very long-lasting. It seems to have quality components and a good fixative. I’m not saying it’s a bad perfume or that it can’t be liked. Just that it’s not for me.
