Descripción
Solo Elixir by Loewe is an oriental fragrance for men. This creation, launched in 2025, is signed by nose Núria Cruelles Borrull. Upon release, the composition unfolds lavender, mandarin, and sambac jasmine. The heart reveals a harmony of iris root, nutmeg, and cinnamon, while the base settles on frankincense, tarragon, myrrh, benzoin, and patchouli.

New Loewe perfume, following the elixir strategy. A peculiar aroma where amber emerges without being intrusive, keeping the base of the original Solo. A subtle spiciness gradually appears with that orange from the Solo range. Moderate longevity on my skin, less than I’d expect from an elixir. I’ll have to try it again, but for now, I’m sticking with Solo EDT.
Terrible. It opens with a scent of iris, yet repulsive, like alcoholic anise. After a short while, that stinging note fades, but it remains a horror. If you want to smell like you’ve had a Sol y Sombra 8, buy it. Luckily, I only have a sample.
Very poor. It opens with a revolting iris scent, like alcoholic anise. That sharp smell then fades, but it remains a horror. If you want to smell like you’ve had eight shots and a hangover, buy it. At least I only have a sample.
Hello, thanks for the samples… It just doesn’t work for me, so I won’t go into detail. My nose only recalls unpleasant things. Try before you buy, always. Best wishes.

Just to clarify, I hate iris. Yet, it’s the fragrance with that note I’ve enjoyed the most. Typical brand quality, very balanced: the iris is noticeable but doesn’t overwhelm or repel non-fans. Good projection and longevity. The only one I’d buy with an ingredient so overrated by Dior and Givenchy.
At first, you notice the iris, but as it dries, labdanum dominates and recalls the original by Eight and Bob, which is my favourite. It doesn’t project much from the start and retreats within a quarter of an hour. Lasts about 5 hours. It smells good, but the price is outrageous.
I’ve always been a fan of Loewe (I’m 58). It hurts that the brand has changed since Emilio Valeros left. It smells off, as if it’s old (even though it’s this year). It doesn’t recall the great original ‘Solo’ and its development is poor. And the price… let’s not even mention it. I’ll stick with the original and Solo Cedar.
If you like masculine iris, forget it and go for Dior Homme, Givenchy Gentleman EDP or any flanker. Even a Valentino suits you better. It’s expensive and mediocre.
It smells odd. Iris comes out first and dries down to a toasted note. Lasts 6–7 hours. However, there’s a wet laundry scent that shouldn’t be ignored. There are better options in the same line; start with the regular Solo. Try it before buying.
Loads of cedar, rosemary, pink pepper and vetiver. It also smells of tobacco with leather and a woody note reminiscent of ‘blem’. Very elegant, suited to older gentlemen.
