Very masculine with a mint mojito that stings the nose. As a woman, I find it hard to wear, but on a man, it looks absolutely brilliant.

I tried this at Yuniqu and the name gives it away: it’s a fragrance for those who don’t want to overthink things. It starts strong with rum and tobacco, but fades quickly, leaving a subtle, intimate scent. It smells of sunshine, reminiscent of Herod by Parfums de Marly without the vanilla, or Paloma by Home Elegance minus the florals. I think it’s unisex, though I believe it suits men better. The downside is it doesn’t last at all, projecting for only about 30 minutes. It’s pleasant and easy to wear, so I’ll use it, but I wouldn’t buy the bottle or repurchase it. There are better options, even cheaper ones. Scent: 7.5, Longevity: 6, Sillage: 5, Value for money: 4.5, Versatility: 8, Originality: 5, Overall: 7.

He mixes everything in a Frapin-style cocktail shaker to create something complex and unique, where the essences are not perceived individually but interlocked like a chain. The blend is homogeneous and compact; the evolution from citrus with rum is brilliant, in my opinion the best part. A heart of light, almost imperceptible mint and geranium, leading to a dry finish that highlights tanned leather mixed with light tobacco, a sweet and boozy accord thanks to the rum that lingers until the very end. Speakeasy is an original work, though not Corticchiato’s finest, crafted for a serious French house producing cognac since 1270: Frapin. Rating: 6.
