Upon first spray, it smells heavily of Baccarat Rouge 540, but soon a chocolate note emerges to set it apart. It’s sweet, with hints of sugar, rum, chocolate, and vanilla; it feels more composed and less strident than similar scents, and the quality is top-notch. Unfortunately, having tested it only as a decant, I cannot compare it to the regular version or the extrait. The projection is moderate at first and then settles close to the skin, lasting around 8-9 hours in total. I expected it to be more bombastic based on reviews, though I understand that with decants we often apply less; however, I note that it performs well without being a powerhouse, much like other fragrances from the brand I’ve tried in full bottles. I wouldn’t buy it as I already own similar ones, although its quality is evident. It’s a BR540 with chocolate—a lovely scent—but there are many options with that profile and performance, and if we want chocolate, we can always layer. I’d stick with more original perfumes from the house. Scent: 8/10 Longevity: 8.5/10 Sillage: 7/10 Value for money: 5/10 Versatility: 7/10 Packaging: 9/10 Would I buy again? No, as I haven’t purchased it.
