Descripción

Sun Delight by Jil Sander is a fruity floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2006, this composition was created by perfumer Nathalie Lorson. The olfactory pyramid begins with top notes of passion fruit, reseda, and Sicilian bergamot; the heart reveals a blend of vanilla, frangipani, dark chocolate, and vanilla orchid; and the base settles on musk, woody notes, and cedar.

I had to return it. I picked it up from a tester website, paying only €6 for shipping alongside another order, but it arrived with a yellowed box and the liquid smelling of pure alcohol. I tested it the next day as instructed, and it was the same. I returned it, of course, but they only refunded part of the cost, claiming the perfume was correct. If the aroma was indeed correct 😏, it just smells of alcohol; I wouldn’t recommend it. For that, Sun is far superior.

  • I bought it blindly due to the price and because it’s by Nathalie Lorson. It’s a summery, sweet EDT, very vanilla-forward. Although feminine, it has a noticeable unisex vibe, much like Jil Sander’s creations. The opening is highly alcoholic on my skin, but within ten seconds it settles, revealing the sweet and vanilla notes. I adore tropical scents, but in this EDT I detect no passion fruit or citrus; just frangipani, vanilla, and little else. I expected something different… It doesn’t smell bad, but it left me indifferent. I don’t think it’s for me.

  • If you’re wondering if it smells like Sun, the answer is a resounding no: they are worlds apart. Sun is vintage; this is not. It begins fresh and sweet with bergamot and passion fruit, but soon vanilla and chocolate with florals take control. The sweetened scent dominates the entire development, with the dry-down barely noticeable. It’s sweet yet perfect for summer, versatile for all seasons and day or night. As it dries, it could remind you of Burberry Brit EDP without sharing notes, yet delivering a similar result. It earned me compliments even after I’d forgotten I was wearing it.
