I went absolutely mad. Among the Bond fragrances, all so quirky and voluptuous, I spotted a peculiar bottle: the cap is a rag doll. Tralala, it smells like a childhood song brought back to life. Mmm, it transports you to that sweet, cherished innocence. The whisky and violet notes are prominent, followed by a powdery vanilla halo anchored by patchouli. The musk is strong, appearing natural rather than chemical. There’s an animalic touch, reminiscent of urine. It leaves the skin feeling oily and ensures lasting longevity. The packaging is a vintage treasure, like a music box with an interior mirror, in red and white… I loved it.
A Duchaufour jewel, the olfactory genius I’ve followed for years. While he has many successes, Tralala is his masterpiece: a fragrance brimming with messages, excess, and lust. Born to depict haute couture and life within Meadham Kirchhoff’s atelier, with that rag doll as the protagonist. I became obsessed with its story and creation. To cut to the chase: it’s lustful, contours desire, and is heavy on alcohol (rum, whisky), wonderful neroli, and the humble vanilla that dusts the air. It intoxicates every place you go. In short: a man’s wool coat kept in the wardrobe after the best orgy party of your life, stained with alcohol, oily skin, cigar smoke, vanilla, and cloying sweet blends from that world of excess. The scent matures after a few days of storage and transforms into vivid memories of that night. Tralala smells like that harmonised and aged set in a closed space after living the experience of your life. A masterpiece that enhances opulence and elegance with irreverent overflows, standing out on its own and above whoever else you smell. I’d almost say it’s the most sexualised fragrance I’ve tried, bordering on dangerous.
