The opening is impactful, exceptionally balsamic and reaches with the first inhalation to the bottom of the lungs. It is truly narcotic and hypnotic. I checked the notes on Fragrantica and I do not see menthol, perhaps it is the styrax resins. That balsamic blend with the weak perception of neroli is super addictive; you want to smell, smell and smell more. The balsamic principle lasts briefly to yield, slowly but firmly, to the creaminess of the neroli. It is an exceptionally well-tied tuberose with mentholated notes; it seems that both reach a mutual agreement. The balsamic power disappears gradually while the creamy neroli takes over the spotlight without leaving aside the slight balsamic note, accompanied by white flowers, hyacinth and velveted by vanilla. On the first day I received three compliments with surprised faces: ‘What fragrance are you wearing? What exactly is it?’. As its name indicates, it is a criminal tuberose that seizes your senses in a chameleon-like way; when you realise it, you find that you cannot stop inhaling its scent. In short, a magnificent and powerful tuberose. I would have liked greater longevity, but I am satisfied, it is a scent I had never experienced before. 8/10
The opening is striking, exceptionally balsamic and reaches the very depths of the lungs with the first sniff. It’s truly narcotic and hypnotic. I checked the notes on Fragrantica and don’t see any menthol, perhaps it’s the Styrax resins at work. That balsamic blend with the subtle nard presence is incredibly addictive; you just want to smell, smell, and smell more. The initial balsamic phase fades gently to yield, slowly but firmly, to the creaminess of the nard. It’s an exceptionally well-balanced tuberose paired with mentholated notes; it feels as though they’ve reached a mutual agreement. The balsamic power dissipates patiently while the creamy nard takes centre stage without losing its faint balsamic whisper, accompanied by white flowers, hyacinth and softened by vanilla. On the first day I received three surprised compliments: ‘What fragrance are you wearing? Exactly what is it?’ As the name suggests, it’s a criminal tuberose that seizes your senses in a chameleon-like fashion; when you realise it, you find you can’t stop inhaling its scent. All in all, a magnificent and powerful tuberose. I would have liked greater longevity, but I’m satisfied; it’s a scent I’ve never experienced before. 8/10
I’d been searching for this perfume for years; it was a blind buy, and thanks to Esther’s review on her YouTube channel, it didn’t disappoint in the slightest. It’s a direct ode to neroli. The opening is so potent it floods your lungs; it smells of fresh green neroli, almost with a mentholated or medicinal ointment touch, but nothing unpleasant, on the contrary, it’s addictive. It’s not linear on my skin: after 15 minutes it already smells of blooming neroli, perfect, unctuous and creamy, with a base of green grass and vanilla pods, all very natural and alive. Then it evolves into more mature neroli, becoming a unisex floral, though with a more feminine character due to the liveliness of the white flowers, yet usable by everyone. Is it what I expected? Yes, and I feel happy every time I wear it. The trail is wide and heavy, and the longevity is extraordinary; it lasts on clothes even after washing. Worth every penny. For neroli lovers, a successful blind buy. My first Serge Lutens perfume leaves me completely satisfied.
