Descripción

Winter Palace by Memo Paris is an aromatic green fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2019, this composition features the olfactory signature of Alienor Massenet. The top notes unfold a vibrant citrus accord with lemon, sour lime, bergamot, and a spicy touch of clove. The heart reveals an exotic and floral blend composed of black tea, yerba mate, and orange blossom. The base settles into a warm, woody sweetness thanks to vanilla, benzoin, and labdanum.

  • It is too tasty; hard for anyone to dislike this rich fruity tea, citrusy and long-lasting. The first time I tried it I thought it was ideal for all year round, although its name ‘Winter Palace’ doesn’t quite fit, as I find it suitable for any season. I find it more appropriate for the day than for the night. It is sweet, with almond hints, citrusy and to a certain extent ‘red’, as if it carried berries. Although the notes suggest something balsamic, heavy and wintery, the reality is comfortable and I feel it as an energetic booster. It is aromatherapy in all its splendour. I loved it and I am curious to try more from this niche brand. Note: *outstanding* 👍🏼

This perfume conveys relaxation and warmth: the embrace of a family member, a gathering or a moment of introspection with a cup of black tea in this ‘winter palace’ of Memo Paris. The opening is citrusy with grapefruit, lemon, bergamot and orange, which could confuse you thinking it is fresh, but nothing could be further from the truth. A few minutes later, the black tea, tolu balsam and yerba mate bring that just right herbal bitterness, imagining yourself with a steaming cup at home. Then, the tea fades to leave a creamy vanilla, slightly powdery and with a marzipan aftertaste, which transports me to afternoons at my grandmother’s house in autumn. Finally, the vanilla and edible touches give way to tonka, myrrh, amber and balsamic qualities. Instead of that cold opulence suggested by the bottle, it offers a close and cosy elegance that invites reflection.

This perfume is pure relaxation and warmth, like a close embrace or a family gathering. The opening is citrusy and vibrant with grapefruit, lemon, and bergamot, but soon the black tea with tolu balsam and yerba mate emerges, giving it that perfect bitter, herbal touch to make you feel as if you’re holding a steaming cup at home. Then, the creamy, powdery vanilla with an almond cake aftertaste transports you to winter afternoons at your grandmother’s house eating cookies. Finally, the tonka, opoponax, and amber notes create a welcoming elegance, far from the cold opulence suggested by its bottle.

  • On my skin it opens sweet, citrusy and balsamic, like an extra-sugared orange syrup from when I was a child. Upon developing, the bitterness of the tea and yerba mate appears alongside bitter orange and a touch of tolu balsam. As it settles, the balsamic disappears and the perfume becomes more powdery, highlighting the vanilla and benzoin without losing the opening completely. At the end, the tonka gives it a nocturnal touch. The projection is good for the first two hours and then stays close to the skin for another five. I find it pretty, interesting and feminine, ideal for temperate or cold climates on informal or office occasions. It has a unique scent that doesn’t smell like anything massive, which gives it points to be a signature. However, the opening doesn’t kill me and it seems a bit pricey for the longevity. Pleasant: 6/10 Interesting: 8/10 Versatile: 6/10 Original: 9/10

Quickly, the bitterness of the tea and mate becomes noticeable, with a touch of bitter orange and tolu balsam. Then the balsamic fades, and the talc rises while the vanilla and benzoin take centre stage without the opening disappearing entirely. As it dries, the tonka adds a nocturnal touch. The first thing that catches attention is that the bottle and name are misleading. Seeing that dragon and reading ‘Winter Palace’, you imagine something dense and masculine for the cold, but I tried it in full summer in Argentina and was surprised. It has a very marked citrus, but not acidic, rather ambered and balsamic. I went overboard with sprays and got saturated, but with less quantity it is totally usable in heat. It smells different to everything I have, very unisex, like a good orange balm. I don’t notice much tea, but I do feel that oriental air that reminds me of my holidays in Japan. I plan to add it to the collection to see how it evolves in different climates; I suppose it is when it really shines in winter.

  • Winter Palace: A very aromatic citrus opening, reminiscent of lemon skin. The heart blends beautifully with a delicious black tea. The dry down is black tea with a faint citrus note, followed by soft touches of tolu balsam, musk, and tonka bean. Projection lasts about three hours and longevity is around eight hours. It’s a fragrance based on black tea, earthy and bitter (delicious), with citrus softened by resins and musk. It has weak projection (better in warm weather), but a singular, pleasant aroma that induces meditation and rest. It never disappoints, versatile for any time and place. The only drawback is that the black tea could be more intense and the projection more potent, considering its price.

  • Winter Palace: Opening: A very aromatic citrus opening, lemon skin. Heart: Said citrus opening fuses with a delicious black tea. Dry down: Its final dry down is a black tea with a slight citrus touch, followed by balsamic touches of tolu (though very soft), musk and tonka bean. Projection and longevity: Its projection is about 3 hours, its longevity sits around 8 hours. Conclusion: A fragrance based on black tea, something earthy and bitter (simply delicious), and citrus softened by resins and musk. It is a fragrance with somewhat weak projection (better used in warm weather), but with a very singular and pleasant aroma that induces meditation and rest. It is one of those scents that never disappoints, tremendously versatile for any moment and place. Its only drawback is that that black tea note is not more intense and that its projection is not a bit more potent, especially considering its high price.

  • Memo Paris Winter Palace: Opening of lemonade caramel, slightly woody, lightly sweet, musky. Now apparently that tea has gone, as I identify it as black tea. You can still hear dried tea leaves with dried lemon peel and less bitter orange and simple orange too. There is a bit of vanilla. It opens considerably in volume outdoors. It smells mostly like powdered cake now, slightly smoky in the background, that’s how I categorise the tea or is it tobacco in a simplified version. You know, it’s pleasant and flattering for me, on one hand, but on the other hand it’s a sort of ageing in a bad way, like musty. Probably it is tobacco, which nowadays is hidden and called tea. In my mind, tea is a steamed drink with water, not the always-present processed tobacco under the guise of dried, desiccated, unprepared tea. It is definitely unisex. The opening is more on the feminine side, but not feminine please take note and do not be afraid to try, and the second part of the continuation is more like masculine at the expense of the tea, which becomes more tobacco and smoky. Clearly built on musk. I cannot call it amazing and very complex, somehow new, but it is good. It is masculine and feminine at the same time. Both facets are clearly visible to me. That teainess/tobaccoiness gives the person wearing it a bit of coldness, aloofness, skittishness. The opening is sweeter, and towards the base it becomes more dominant, masculine, cold, aggressive. Do not expect much complexity in it, but nor is it very easy. Generally intrusive, so girls come out – I’m not so sure, more for women and for men, including young men. Vanilla in the base, and a very light touch of tea. Join my Telegram channel ‘AVRUMs Perfume Notes’! 💙

  • I love perfumes with tea notes, and Winter Palace seems to remind me that tea is not just flavour and warmth, but an entire atmosphere that can be so different, sometimes invigorating, sometimes relaxing. It smells like a winter morning when the frost sparkles like champagne bubbles and the sun plays with golden reflections, barely touching the horizon. The scent opens with a revitalising burst of bergamot and orange, capable of waking you up faster than any alarm. But then the black tea accord appears. Its smoky, enveloping warmth creates that perfect balance: fresh yet cosy, vibrant yet soft. In the background, the woody amber leaves a subtle trail, reminding you that winter is not just cold, but also a collection of special moments that make us feel alive. For me, this is more than a perfume: it’s a small ritual. A couple of sprays, a sip of tea, winter.

What a wonderful fragrance. A truly olfactory experience, citrusy, sweet, with the tea presence fully perceived and a hint of something drier, which surely relates to yerba mate. Longevity is very good; it’s not overpowering but it is present.

What a surprise this Winter Palace… Perhaps due to the name, I expected something darker, but upon reaching the nose, it was a delight. What a beautiful perfume. The opening isn’t my favourite part; it’s a sparkling wave of citrus and tea, a statement of intent. But once it dries, it’s much better: sweet resins emerge that complement the mixture perfectly. It’s a fresh-warm contrast, difficult to explain. You must try it; I loved it. In summary: Unisex, though for me it has quite a masculine edge. Very versatile, extra versatile, although it shines in warm climates and suits any occasion. Scent: 9, Longevity: 7, Sillage: 7.5, Price: 225 Euros/100ml.
