I tried this perfume with too much innocence. I love dates, I own several perfumes with this note, but this perfume surpasses everything I had tried until today with that note. Its opening is tremendously intense, where saffron leads the way so the other notes can then come in. That saffron arrives and stays there, plants its flag and never leaves, but lets dates and plum also take a starring role, taking over the podium from the middle phase on. This perfume doesn’t need vanillas or honeys because the sweetness of those fruits is more than enough. An almost syrupy, thick sweetness. After a few minutes you can breathe better because everything starts to calm down, to tone down a bit. But it’s not a perfume for the faint-hearted. I see it as totally unisex but you absolutely have to enjoy scents with that Middle Eastern imprint, loud, intense. I think it’s a fragrance of spectacular quality but I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing it because I find it too overwhelming. Now, if you like scents with these kinds of characteristics, it’s without a doubt 100% worth it. It’s a sensual, nocturnal, wintry and 100% unisex scent.

The name alone says it all, it’s what you’d expect from the Middle East, that is spices + sweetness + vanilla and very very lactonic, it’s for cold climates (In the Middle East for all year round, they like this type of scents), this is not a versatile scent, the lactonic note constantly comes in bursts and can become tiring and nauseating.

This perfume is very well made, I think it deserves a higher rating. It’s not versatile, it’s for cold climates, for winter. But it’s a delight, an exquisite treat. It’s silky and sweet, it’s soft, enveloping and cosy. It’s elegant but also for casual wear. I didn’t know any work by this nose, Mylene Alran, and I was very pleasantly surprised.

I loved it the instant I sprayed it on the blotter. A nicely oriental scent, sweet, with lots of spices. Unfortunately dates don’t get along well with my skin and the very moment this fragrance touched my skin the wonderful scent turned into a horror. I’m heartbroken.

Definitely a spiced scent, with a very oriental, warm and dark touch. It’s exquisite. It has a sweet touch from the blend of date and plum, which contrasts brilliantly with that so piquant cardamom, which together with the resins, you get a blend very much in the style of One Thousand and One Nights (sexual version) because for me it’s a very sexy scent. Very very good. In short: masculine, I admit it. A masculine scent Zero versatile, a dark aroma that calls for cold climates or at least cool ones, and to be minimally dressed (or naked LOL) Scent: 8 Longevity: 8 Sillage: 7.5 Price: 255 euros/75ml

This perfume is a great ace up your sleeve, especially for those connected to the group where they kill them quietly. The truth is I was looking for a date fragrance that was quite versatile and wouldn’t turn too sweet on my skin, but without losing performance… and I finally found all of that in Abu Dhabi. This fragrance is an elegant, subtle and cosy gourmand, where all the aromas share the same level of prominence, with the vetiver note being more discreet. Beyond my personal impressions, it is undoubtedly a very well-balanced composition. If it weren’t for the sexy or cheeky side given by the plum and date notes, I would recommend it for the office. Still, I see it as very versatile for all other social situations that don’t require strict formality. As for times of year, I’ve worn Abu Dhabi in cold weather above 12°C and in summer below 34°C, so it will be a good Swiss Army knife for you. Just bear in mind that it projects well during the first hour and then stays close to the skin, lasting about 7-8 hours with six sprays. If you spray on clothes, you’ll extend its longevity. As I always advise, always try any niche perfume on skin before final purchase and don’t rely solely on the scent that develops on paper or a blotter. Remember that for you the best judge to give a 4, a 5 or a 10 to a fragrance will be your own skin.

I loved it the moment I sprayed it on the blotter. A well-oriental, sweet scent with plenty of spices. Unfortunately, dates don’t agree with my skin; the instant this fragrance touches my epidermis, that wonderful aroma turns into a horror. My heart is broken.

The perfume is excellently crafted and deserves a higher rating. While it isn’t versatile and is best suited for cold weather and winter, it is simply a delight, an absolute treat. It’s silky, sweet, soft, enveloping, and cosy. Elegant yet suitable for informal wear. I knew nothing of this nose, Mylene Alran, before, and she has pleasantly surprised me.

Spiced, very oriental, warm, and dark. It’s exquisite. It has a sweet touch from the blend of date and plum that contrasts brilliantly with that spicy cardamom; together with the resins, it’s a ‘One Thousand and One Nights’ style mix (sexual version), very sexy for me. Very, very good. In summary: masculine, I admit it. A masculine Zero scent, lacking versatility, dark, calling for cold or fresh climates, and best worn with minimal clothing (or in the buff, LOL). Scent: 8. Longevity: 8. Sillage: 7.5. Price: €255/75ml.

This perfume is a real ace up the sleeve, especially for the ‘kill with kindness’ crowd. I was looking for a versatile date fragrance that wouldn’t become too sweet on my skin but still maintain its performance… and I finally found it in Abu Dhabi. It’s an elegant, subtle, and cosy gourmand where all the notes share the spotlight, with vetiver playing a more discreet role. It’s a very well-balanced composition. If it weren’t for the sexy edge given by the plum and date notes, I’d recommend it for work. I see it as very versatile for anything except highly formal occasions. I’ve worn it in the cold above 12°C and in summer below 34°C, so it will serve you as a good Swiss Army knife. It projects well for the first hour before settling close to the skin, lasting around 7-8 hours with six applications. Applying it to clothes extends the longevity. As always, test any niche perfume on your skin before buying and don’t trust the paper notes alone. Remember, your own skin will be the best judge for you.
