Packaging top and quality atomiser, but the scent is linear: a potent opening of pepper and rosemary that smells soapy and like shower gel. It doesn’t quite reach the realm of ‘blue’ fragrances; ideal for sport or heat, with medium projection and 5-6 hours of longevity. If it’s your first purchase, go for it; if not, you’re better off skipping to a Dylan Blue or YSL Live.
First from Jaguar (Lalique): opens with apple and spices, soft and non-invasive, but fades in fifteen minutes without leaving a base trail. Smells nice but lacks punch, nothing to earn compliments. Ideal for home or post-gym, very linear. The bottle is pretty with the jaguar and geometric base, but the scent is bland for 15-30-year-olds. Day and evening only, economical but adds nothing.
Pace is one of those fragrances that don’t seduce you at first. You sense it as soft, with its ingredients hard to discern, and sometimes you need several sprays before you start to appreciate its magic. Not striking at the outset, you gradually grow to like it. What stands out most to me is a slight, pleasant floral scent (and tolerable, despite not being a great lover of that type), which I believe comes from lavender and iris flower, perhaps supported by pepper and rosemary. Projection and longevity are, in my experience, between weak and moderate. If I were to rate it, my score would be between 7 and 8.
Pace doesn’t seduce at first: it’s very soft and hard to distinguish, requiring several sprays to notice its magic. Gradually, you get used to it, highlighting a subtle floral (lavender and iris) that suits me well, mixed with pepper and rosemary. Projection and longevity are weak to moderate. Rating: 7 or 8.
Who said it smells like Bleu de Chanel? Someone had a bad leg. It’s a generic scent lasting an hour and hard to distinguish the notes. I detect powdery lavender (from the iris). It’s casual, versatile and smells good, but if you overdo it, it becomes annoying. Ideal for gifting to a young man aged 25-40. Thanks to the discounted tester, I didn’t mind having another ‘utility’. If you have more than 15 perfumes, it adds nothing; if you’re starting and need something for the office without going overboard, it’s worth it for the price. Forget about it being a Chanel clone, haha.

Rosemary, iris and the spicy freshness of pepper give it a great touch, with a trail fixation you can perceive for about 6 hours; sometimes it brings back memories with traces of a Versace Pour Homme due to its freshness. I recommend it, and if you can try it first, even better.

I think I haven’t learned my lesson; I’ve now bought four blind buys from this house and none have truly surprised me. It feels like Jaguar kept the three base notes and the rest are just blends of those. Pace, for instance, seems like a mix of Vision and Evolution. The result is fresh, very eighties, with woody notes and that resinous afterglow from Vision. Little originality, a strange combination, like mixing Coca-Cola with orange soda; the outcome is odd. Is it unpleasant? Not entirely, but it’s not fantastic. Scent: 6. Longevity: 7. Projection: 7. Price: 10
This is my fourth blind buy from this house and none have surprised me. Jaguar mixes three basic lotions: Pace is Vision plus Evolution. Result: 80s-style freshness with woody notes and that Vision resin trail. Little originality, a strange mix like Coca-Cola with an orange soda. Unpleasant? No, but it’s not fantastic. Scent: 6, Longevity: 6, Projection: 7, Price: 10.
I tested it on offer and was surprised: that mineral and fresh sensation uniting the ingredients reminded me of Brave by Agua Brava. They aren’t the same, but they leave that same aura. Pace is distinctive, Brave is timeless and cave-like. It suits semi-formal dates, but for everyday wear, I don’t think it’s as versatile, although it is good.
