  • Legitimate question for a charitable perfumer soul: does Dior Homme Parfum 2025 really resemble this Prada? Would it be redundant to own both?

  • campeones22

MenezesD, they don’t resemble each other at all. Dior Homme Parfum 2025 comes out like an Armani Code and dries down like a JPG Ultramale with iris, whereas this Prada is clean, less soapy than the EDTs, and has a leather note more than iris. But come on, they don’t resemble each other.

  • MenezesD is similar to Prada L’homme Intense formally, in the shape of the dry-down, not in the content. If you spray Dior Homme Parfum 2025 generously, it dries down to a discreet background iris in the Prada style: dry, powdery, and clean. Dior Homme Parfum 2025 is better; it improves or completes Prada in that sense. People don’t detect that both irises are so similar because in Dior Homme Parfum the amber is powerful and draws attention there, but if you look closely, the iris in Prada is there and they are alike. When you realise it’s there, it’s no longer so discreet. It may also depend on the skin; on my skin, Dior Homme Parfum 2025 and Prada L’homme Intense are very similar and dry down to Prada’s iris.

UPDATE: The performance leaves much to be desired; that is its main flaw. It’s a magnificent perfume with a refined and elegant iris. The blend of talc, woods, and iris gives the sensation of being in a field of fresh flowers, sweet but soft, nothing invasive. Sometimes it recalls Prada Luna Rossa Ocean, but this is deeper and more serious. Prada knows how to work the iris like few others; that talcum touch never feels old or cloying. It projects elegance and presence without shouting. I see it as perfect for a mature man who cares about his image. Perhaps its only weak point is that it’s not for everyone: it’s not casual or suitable for heat or parties. Rating: 9/10 (not 10 due to performance). Smells like a field of violets with iris and clean talc. I would use it in the office, on dates, or for formal dinners in cool weather. I don’t see it for heat or informal outings. Recommended age: 30-55 years.

  • Campeones22, many thanks for your response regarding the comparison; it helps me make decisions!

  • Using L’homme Intense is like entering a room where everything has already been said, but you decide to speak anyway. It imposes a slow, controlled rhythm, as if every gesture were perfectly measured. It smells of neatly folded clothes, of secrets kept, of a masculinity that needs no noise. It doesn’t seduce with fire, but with composure. There is something in that dark iris (very different from Dior’s) and in that almost clinical amber base that doesn’t seek attention, but avoids it with such elegance that it ends up capturing it. I use it when I want no one to know what I’m thinking.

  • My first review on Fragrantica, although I’ve been part of the community for years. My bottle of Prada L’homme Intense is from 2024, so I don’t know the old formula. For me, it’s a bomb: it lasts over 8 hours and smells on clothes for days. It’s talcum-like, elegant, and refined, smelling of cleanliness. It’s one of those perfumes I would buy again without hesitation, as a backup. A hug.

  • Mauriciop

It dries down smelling the same as the EDT, but here it has more sweetness and creaminess. Smells very rich if you enjoy creamy, non-powdery iris. It doesn’t last long nor project much; it endures about 6 hours on skin, with only the first 2 hours projecting moderately. The EDT version projects more.

  • Rich scent with a lovely trail, though the longevity is moderate. It opens floral and feminine, elegant and alluring, but dries down to become slightly masculine and intense. The iris is soft and distinct from Dior’s, paired with a sweet, non-generic patchouli, a leather base (not realistic), light amber, and a touch of smoky sandalwood. A very good perfume, but not for hot climates. The first impression is excellent. I find it bears a strong resemblance to Boss Bottled Parfum, although Prada L’homme Intense is more expensive and was released earlier. While Boss is casual and rugged, this conveys elegance and sensuality, reserved for special occasions. The floral notes fit the Yves Saint Laurent brand perfectly.

  • Lobo_Estepario

A proper fragrance. A very rich iris, this scent oozes elegance and class to the max. A clean scent slightly dark thanks to that leather note. I prefer it to the EDT because in longevity and projection, without being a beast mode, it surpasses it by a mile on my skin. A delightful fragrance.

  • Jorge Iglesias

One of the best worked irises in perfumery. Elegant, clean and addictive. Moderate trail and good longevity. This perfume is art and class. You’ll like it and the people around you will too. A proper fragrance with all the letters. Recommended 100%.

  • Castellon90

I don’t know why, but I feel it doesn’t last me anything in the heat. In cold weather, yes, just like with the Mara Villa.

  • emilianEDT

At least to my taste, it smells like talcum powder. Nothing masculine, good thing I tested it before buying. I didn’t fall for the TikTok hype.

  • byrgertidesson

Puff, one of the most versatile, clean, elegant and delicious fragrances in my collection. It was on my list since 2018 and I’m annoyed at having taken so long to get it. It’s persistent but not intrusive; the iris, amber and sandalwood star in its entire life. The projection is barely perceptible but it doesn’t need more. It’s excellently balanced, although for those looking for twists it might seem linear. I’ve used it for everything (gym, office, nights out, dinners, before bed) and it delivers in all… it withstands extreme climates, useful day and night. It doesn’t smell like makeup, but intensely masculine. 10/10.

  • First review in this community, I felt brave because I’m truly in love. From the first time I smelled it, I found it enchanting. A friend was selling his 2019 bottle (Puig batch), I knew it from reviews and, being an iris lover, I was interested. He sprayed me and I was completely smitten, I felt like I was in the clouds. That clean, talcum-powdered iris scent, with a sweet and amber touch, and a leather note that although not so perceptible, adds class and creaminess. Unfortunately, I couldn’t buy it then, but this year I decided to do so. The reviews said L’Oréal had lowered the performance, but on my skin it’s still a bomb: it lasts 8 hours, projects well for the first 3, and then settles nobly. I use it between 25-32 degrees, but I wear it in air-conditioned offices or cool nights (15 degrees) and I love it. Although they say it’s linear, for me the first phase is clean, almost soapy and vibrant, and the second is talcum-powdered and silky without losing elegance. Although it has iris, everyone loves it. If you’re afraid of throwing money on iris fragrances, it’s a great option to start with. Spectacular, I would buy it again and again. At 22 years old, it’s one of my three iris commercial pillars (alongside Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privé and Dior Homme Intense).

  • Alcazar_kb

It prints itself onto you like Spiderman’s Venom; you can walk through any European bag (you can go in shorts, a t-shirt with holes and flip-flops) and start pulling money out of your pockets… it’s one thing, mate… listen to me, it pays for itself.

  • XyrahPerfumist

One opinion is just an opinion. This is mine, with a half-empty glass and the smoke of the last cigarette in my throat. L’Homme Intense by Prada… what can I say, if the EDT was magic, this is wet cardboard. They say it’s been modernised; I say it’s been washed, trimmed and domesticated. The soul stayed in the first bottle, and here there is only a sad echo. The internet has inflated it like a cheap balloon; everyone sells the same story of ‘elegant and mysterious’. I smell it and I don’t care. Simple and flat like a freshly cleaned bar table. Bleu de Chanel, the boring cousin, gives it a hand. It’s the scent for those who don’t want to think, just so people can say ‘you smell good’ without remembering your name. Respect to those who adore it, but I can’t. There’s no spark, no play, nor that damn magic that makes a perfume sink under the skin. There’s only an expensive suit hanging on a mannequin. While I smell it, I remember other scents that made me feel alive… and this one, simply, is not invited to that table.

  • A pleasant, clean, yet intense opening. I bought it recently and I’m not sure if it was a good investment; it doesn’t mix well with the heat and on my skin it releases a smell reminiscent of malt that is certainly not pleasant. I have no complaints about longevity and projection. I’ll keep testing it when it gets colder to see if it performs differently. 6.5/10 for now, it hasn’t convinced me.

  • I’m going to give my honest opinion: I’ve tested the Intense, the EDT, and the Eau, and I don’t understand where recent comments come from that label it as ‘boring’ or ‘without projection’. Some say they expected more after trying the EDT and ended up disappointed. That surprises me. Many judgments seem to come from those who smelled it on blotter paper in the store without letting it evolve on the skin. Whoever truly tests it discovers one of the most refined and elegant creations in modern perfumery. Prada L’Homme Intense is exquisite. If I could marry a fragrance, it would be this one. It is sophisticated, elegant, and conveys serenity that only well-made luxury achieves. I have the original, Dior Homme Intense, Dior Homme Parfum, and Givenchy Gentleman Réserve Privée in my collection, and I still affirm it has the best iris I’ve ever smelled, even above the Dior Homme Parfum. For those who say there are no differences with the EDT: there are. In the Intense, the leather is noticeable from the start, deep and elegant, integrated with a more sophisticated iris, an amber touch, and the tonka bean that adds warmth. It retains the slightly talc-like facet of the original, but here there is a more earthy and mature nuance, with a denser texture. To say it is simple is to not know Prada: they don’t make simple perfumes. It is an exercise in refinement where every note fulfils its function. The leather gives body, the iris identity, the amber softens, and the result is ultra-polished. Does it resemble the EDT? Yes, they share DNA, 70-80%, but the difference is noticeable skin against skin. The Intense is darker, deeper, and more serious. It is not a ‘stronger’ version, it is a more mature and structured version. Its duration is good, slightly above average, and the projection is moderate and refined. It doesn’t invade; it accompanies with class. Whoever approaches it will notice, but it won’t be overwhelming. In summary, it is a modern masterpiece. Elegant, warm, and balanced. Whoever says nonsense that it is common probably never smelled it with attention. It demands sensitivity and a taste for the subtle. For me, it remains one of the most elegant and complete ever created. It represents the soul of Prada: tidiness, minimalism, and sophistication. Yes, it is suit and tie, nothing casual, it’s disrespectful. Scent: 10. Originality: 10. Trail: 7. Projection: 6. Longevity: 8. Versatility: 5. Formality: Elegant.

  • To be honest, I’m disappointed. I was hooked by the deliciousness of the EDT and felt brave enough to buy the Intense, expecting something more impactful, but it turns out it smells much weaker… I can’t find any difference between the two. Absolutely unnecessary to own both.

  • I believe the complaints about this fragrance come from the self-sabotage Prada applied when reformulating it. I tested it a long time ago and was dying to try it, then I tested it again shortly after… where is the iris? And that cheap amber? And the trail and longevity? Everything went to hell with the new batches. I put the new Paradigma on one arm and the Intense on the other, and they practically smelled the same. Pure synthetic amber similar to what we find in the mid-range of Zara.

  • Hello, I never reviewed perfumes, but this one made me create an account. In my city (Cali), it’s almost impossible to find testers for this Prada reference, unlike Dior, YSL, or Chanel. I had a YSL EDP about to finish and was looking for a worthy successor in the line of ‘blue perfumes’. I tried several online, but I could never try the Intense until now, which I had to order as a decant from another city. Love at first sniff: the opening is explosive and it’s the best iris I’ve ever smelled (above Dior Homme Parfum, which is a great perfume but very elegant). It’s sexy and addictive, although my mistake was thinking it would replace the YSL; it’s for special occasions, not so versatile for the day or extreme heat. I chose it over other options; it doesn’t fit my initial needs, but I adjust my needs to it. It’s total madness and it’s worth it.

  • Since it entered my collection, Prada L’Homme Intense is one of my favourite iris fragrances. The combination of iris and leather is magnificent: clean, soapy, and deep, with a marked, dry iris and a powerful but not rough leather. Together they build an elegant, distant, almost elitist opening. Gradually, it becomes warmer, closer, and more sensual thanks to the patchouli and tonka, maintaining that clean and enveloping character. I use it on cold autumn and winter nights or formal daytime occasions with cold. It has moderate projection and excellent duration, surpassing eight hours on skin and remaining on clothes for days. It conveys calm, security, and distinction, both at work and on special occasions. It combines very well with Prada L’Homme: I reserve the original for the everyday and the Intense when a bit more elegance is requested. Compared to Dior Homme Intense, which can be reminiscent of the iris, the Prada feels cleaner, sober, and drier, whereas the Dior is more fleshy, creamy, and voluptuous.

  • campeones22

I’m editing my comment: now I understand what’s happening. To my nose, the iris and spicy notes don’t agree. The perfume comes out like the EDT but more intense, then dries down to iris + talcum powder + spices, making it harassing. If you’ve already bought it, put on 2 or 3 sprays and keep it away from your nose. I think the EDT is better.

  • Absolute disappointment. It smells of iris and talcum powder, feels flat, feminine, and I detect no leather at all. The projection is non-existent and it lasts about five hours. Its sister, the EDT, is recommended, but not this one.

  • JonathanJavier

I’ve tried many iris fragrances and wasn’t expecting such a surprise with a note I thought I knew, but this dark, velvety iris has me hooked. It’s refined, distinct from Dior Homme Intense which is more smiling and creamy; this one gives you the cold shoulder with malicious charm. It has a quirk: it’s loaded with sweetness and a shrill amber. It works and doesn’t work; at times I ignore it, and at others, it’s overwhelming. It’s not that cheap sweetness with coumarin, but it’s a pity. For those seeking niche presence, know that they are here, but it comes with a price. In the opening, it smells of mild spice, confirmed in the olfactory pyramid as ‘warm spicy’, although Prada doesn’t declare it. That spice prevents it from feeling so feminine; it’s not Kouros, but a novice might see it as androgynous. There is also an earthy spectrum that, when over-sweetened, muddies the scent. When the amber settles after two hours, it improves immensely. The leather rounds it off and adds masculinity that counters the sugared patchouli. I feel this was what Luna Rossa Black lacked, which is very feminine. The Intense is more elegant and substantial, whereas the Rossa Black is youthful and clean. L’homme Intense doesn’t break the mould; it trusts in making its style better than the rest. I would give it the right if the amber were better treated. I was going to save it for winter, but surprisingly, it holds up to 28 degrees. Does it shine? When it rains; the iris envelops you like a purple cellophane with the droplets. It lasts about four good hours and then survives close to the skin for another four. It projects very well at first, over a metre and a half, which is the limit of what I consider annoying. It feels woody, but I don’t detect the buried sandalwood, and I’m glad, I’m tired of it. After 12 hours, when it has finally given up, there’s a lingering interesting soapy sandalwood, which I prefer to the spices. Magnificent for the evening. I don’t know if I would wear a perfume with so much iris, but if I were to do so, it would undoubtedly be this one. 9/10.

  • It’s a different option and is appreciated. I like it more each time. The distinctive note is the iris, of the ‘clean’ type, not the makeup-like iris of Dior. It’s accompanied by a gentle leather and I detect the tonka bean very clearly, perhaps a bit of amber. Up close, it almost overwhelms; it’s very dense and the tonka is noticeable. From a distance, it gives the sensation of clean clothes. It projects quite a bit and lasts a long time. Ideal for work meetings, but be careful with the sprays. It’s worth the money, but it’s not recommended to buy blindly because not everyone will like it.

  • One of my favourites. I love it on both men and women: it adds presence and distinction, yet smells approachable and has received many compliments. I believe anyone who loves iris is covered with this and its EDT version for almost any occasion. Both leave an elegant, tidy impression with that special touch that avoids boredom and makes them very attractive. For me, an absolute 10.

  • I won’t bore you with details; simply put, it’s one of my top three. It smells of absolute cleanliness and tidiness, perfect for both men and women. Performance on my skin is good, and it’s very original—nothing like those cloying, sweet scents of today. For me, it’s a 10/10; I’ll always keep a bottle at home. The iris note is the best I’ve ever smelled, even compared to Dior or Givenchy; Prada handles it better. Every time I wear it, I receive compliments. Compared to the original, this is more serious and dark, ideal for special occasions. 100% recommended.

  • It is sexy and particular. It has a lot of elegance and stature. I see it for use at a night wedding. It is a beautiful perfume and has a lot of style; it is sophisticated and dark.

  • Marco Reus507

The bottle is back in my collection; it is a very rich perfume. The previous bottle felt more iris and tonka bean to me; this new one feels more lavender and leather, with an equally present iris. I maintain my position that this is not for daily use but for formal occasions, night, and very cold weather. It is a dense, dark, and heavy fragrance. It smells mature and nothing youthful. Do not buy blindly, test first. Its longevity is good. The bottle I had before did not last as long and had good projection, but this one apparently has better longevity but less projection, which is strange.

  • One of the best designer iris fragrances available. It seems niche. Masculine iris, versatile, delicious, with a dry-down that leans a bit towards the dark. A signature fragrance for a while, surely.

  • Javi De Palma

What a crazy perfume! It is not the absolute favourite in my collection, but it is certainly in my top 3. Moreover, it is the perfume I am asked about most often: ‘What are you wearing that smells so good?’… and it is no surprise. Prada L’Homme Intense smells delicious. It is a floral iris, like fresh violet, with ambered accords and a slightly leathery base, which becomes powdery, clean, and elegant in the dry-down. That type of aroma that reminds you of freshly washed and dry-cleaned sheets. Pure class. Pure addiction. Some say it is not versatile, that it is too elegant for certain occasions. Well, as always, every nose is a different world. For me, it is totally versatile. It can perfectly be a signature fragrance. By adjusting sprays to the temperature and context, it can be worn all year round and in practically any occasion. It does not project like a beast, but it does not aim to. It is a fragrance seeking subtlety, presence, and refinement. Nevertheless, it projects approximately to a metre and a half and leaves a delicious trail wherever you go. The longevity is more than decent, and on clothes it becomes quite long-lasting. I never recommend buying blindly, but if you like iris fragrances and perfumes with a clean scent, you have very few chances of not liking it. I have known it for a long time and have had several bottles, but until today I had never reviewed it. And it is curious, because seeing what is coming out to the market lately, fragrances like this get better with time. A modern classic, elegant and timeless.

  • This perfume is an iris bomb; it is dense but also clean. It is floral and dark. I do not recommend buying it blindly. I like to wear it at night.

  • On Skin Parfums

Hello, I bought this Prada L’Homme Intense EDP last time in 2025 for around 65-70€ in a physical store; you can get it cheaper online if you are patient. To start, it is one of my favourites in my entire collection (and I do not have few perfumes). It combines that clean scent, like luxury fabric softener or a modern barbershop, with a deeper, more masculine base, but without becoming heavy. The whole ensemble is extremely elegant. On my skin (dry), it lasts about 7 hours. On clothes, literally (real case): I kept a suit for two weeks, and when I took it out of the wardrobe to wear it again, a clear burst of this perfume reached me. The scent was still there. Note: perfumes tend to fix better on noble fabrics. Furthermore, if applied inside the lapels, longevity on clothes is multiplied. It has an elegant trail, nothing invasive. It usually pleases when I wear it, and I personally love how it smells on me. I have even used it on summer nights, though with fewer sprays. Should I recommend it? Yes, certainly, and I would buy it again with my eyes closed. Nevertheless, as always, I recommend testing it on your skin first.

  • One of my favourite fragrances since I can remember having a sense of smell, dating back to my adolescence. I met it around 2017/2018 when it was given to my father, and I fell in love ever since. I am now on my third bottle and it seems like a must-have. It is a fragrance that literally smells like a clean man with that iris. Although for many people this version is for special occasions and the EDT is better for daily wear, personally I think it can be worn every day (excluding very hot situations), provided you are not afraid to make a statement. It has good longevity and a slightly weaker trail, but generally everyone likes it and finds it normal, as it smells elegant and refined, basically clean. Perfect for a formal event, a date, going out at night, or heading to the office. 9/10.

  • yss.fragancias

This perfume is very different from the typical ones. It is pure iris, leaning more towards unisex without losing its masculine edge. It smells very elegant and denotes style and class. I wear it on special occasions, especially in colder months (I do not recommend it for summer), and it suits evening wear better than daytime, although there is no problem wearing it during the day. The performance is quite good; people notice it, and it lasts a long time on both skin and clothes. I do not recommend buying it blindly at all, because you might personally dislike this type of aroma, but if you are looking for something refined and unique, you will probably like this one from Prada.

  • This perfume is VERY chalky; it smells like a mixture of talcum powder, iris, and violet. These two notes are excellent and feel natural. The opening is lovely, with average longevity. It lingers on clothes for days. For dressing up, it is one of my favourites in the collection. I see it more for temperate to cold weather; I do not see it for summer. Outstanding overall.

  • Aka_Kaiser22

I have to admit, I went in with high hopes and, to be honest, I was slightly disappointed. It’s a perfectly decent perfume, undeniably elegant and formal. The good news is the iris is very prominent, with those powdery, chalky notes that give it a sense of distinction and cleanliness. The longevity and trail are adequate. However, the talcum powder note is overpowering and completely unbalanced; that’s the flaw. I’m sorry, sometimes it smells like an older lady’s perfume; it reminds me of my grandmother’s Moussel soap. Is it bad? Not at all, it just isn’t for me. I believe it is extremely unisex. Do not buy it blindly or as a joke, especially since the price isn’t low. Abstain if you dislike talcum powder or vintage makeup scents.
