We already know that CH releases six perfumes a year, but ‘skin note, human skin’? I hope they confused it with leather, because even Nazis wouldn’t think of putting skin notes in a perfume, or how did they synthesise skin? I don’t understand anything. If anyone can explain, please.
Delicious human skin scent! Ideal to accompany with a glass of blood.
Without wanting to defend mass-market CH perfumes, I want to clarify the matter of skin notes. These belong to animalic notes (including humans) and were always used with castoreum, musk, or civet. With the ban on sacrificing animals, they are now synthesised in laboratories. Aggressive notes like those in Gentleman from ’74, Antaeus, or ladies’ fragrances take us to the primary, instinctive, or sexual. Mixed with amber, flowers, or spices, they give sensual attraction. Abstract scents like vinyl, asphalt, sun, cocaine, marijuana, smoke, etc., are also used. I imagine the skin scent as soft grease, or if intense, sweat, sulphur, or clean saliva (suede is a possible comparison, but more aromatic). The scent of blood I see as metallic. I haven’t had the luck to try this 212 yet. We’ll see what it smells like. Best regards.
How are you? I went to the perfumerie with prejudices and this time habit proved right. The ‘Wins’ message isn’t about winning female conquests, but winning in the sporting sense, because 212 Wings tends to tonify, refresh, and boost. A strong, rough citrus opening dominated by basil lasts a good while (at first I thought of Bad Boy, Tommy Impact, or the black 212 VIP with its green absinthe note). Later, the pepper tames that green and joins a gentle lavender. Hours later, dry and sweet, with coumarin and natural skin. Very similar to the VIPs, but this one is fresh and rough with its Yuzu note (beautiful). Good performance on skin, but… unless you are a collector of striking bottles, it’s too much money for so little. Do I like it? Yes, for the Yuzu. Would I buy it? No, subtle differences from the others and high price for this limited edition. Only for athletes and I’m not one.
I tried it yesterday at the perfumerie and I liked it immensely; I’m thinking of giving it to my husband. It’s a very fresh scent with a sweet touch that stands out, ideal for daytime.
WINS by Carolina Herrera 🍊🚿🌿. This flanker is a modern Fougère: fresh, citrusy, aromatic, and green. The opening is like ‘after shower’ with a gel deodorant vibe. It will be a hit among guys because it is attractive, versatile, and sporty. A good choice to start a collection. I use it casually in any season.
I was surprised by this fragrance. It smells rich, with good longevity and sillage, although it’s for days that aren’t cold. Generally, heat fragrances don’t last more than five or six hours on me, but this one was still on my skin after eight hours. It projects very well for the first three hours and then settles without becoming undetectable. Highly recommended.
I was surprised by this fragrance. It smells lovely, with good longevity and trail. Ideal for days that aren’t cold; perfumes for heat usually don’t last more than five or six hours on my skin, but this one has already passed eight and I can still smell it. It projects very well for the first three hours and then fades without becoming unnoticeable. Highly recommended.
I bought it blind and loved it immensely. The opening is very citrusy with a certain sting that settles quickly to leave a sweet background, I suppose due to the lavender. Longevity and sillage are average on my skin, with good projection for the first hour and a half. It’s a ten for warm days. If you like citrus fragrances, I highly recommend it.
I bought it blind and I loved it. Very citrusy opening with a slight sting that calms quickly to leave a sweet background, probably due to the lavender. Longevity and trail are average on my skin, but with good projection for the first hour and a half. It’s a ten for hot days. If you like citrus, highly recommended.
CH 212 VIP WINS smells like Yuzu cream. It is citrusy, yes, but different from the typical fresh, juicy, aquatic citrus we usually imagine. The opening is strong, sharp, and spicy, like when you twist a Yuzu peel and that intense oil is boosted by strong pepper. Although it starts as a shock, it settles and reveals a soft, clean, sweet lavender. Gradually it becomes creamy but retains that underlying citrus note. After an hour, everything is sweeter, with vanilla and tonka bean. Curiously, the ‘skin’ note is noticeable; I, who have a habit of smelling everything I touch, perceive it clearly. I associate scents with colours and in the background I sense that skin tone. Performance is very good, lasting about eight hours on skin with moderate trail. If you don’t like citrus, I wouldn’t recommend it. I haven’t tried other VIPs and I think this one is unique. Best regards.
CH 212 VIP Wins smells like yuzu cream, a citrus distinct from the typical kind: strong and sharp at first, like twisted peel oil with plenty of pepper. It then softens with gentle, clean lavender, becoming creamy while retaining that underlying citrus note. After an hour, it’s all vanilla and tonka bean. Curiously, that ‘skin’ note the bottle mentions is what I detect myself; I smell my hands and arms obsessively, and it’s like the colour of skin. It lasts around eight hours with moderate sillage. It smells creamy but always with that citrus zing, so if you dislike citrus, don’t touch it. I haven’t tried other VIPs and I think this one is unique.
If you really like 212 VIP Black, this is the ideal version as a complement for when it’s too hot. It’s a fresher 212 VIP Black, with a touch of yuzu in the opening. While it can be worn during the day, I think it suits summer nights better. 5.5/10 of the best 212 flankers.
If you like 212 VIP Black a lot, this is the ideal version for when it’s very hot: it’s fresher, with a yuzu touch at the start. Although it can be worn during the day, I think it suits summer evenings better. I give it 5.5/10 among the best 212 flankers.
I tried it yesterday and it has a rich citrus opening that doesn’t overdo it, evolving into a pleasant sweetness within minutes, reminiscent of Paco Rabanne’s Phantom but without being cloying. It projects well and lasts over six hours. The moderate price is around $100 (here in Mexico).
212 VIP Wins retains that DNA of the 212 VIP, but just as you see on the ‘Green’ bottle, so it is, friends. I like it a lot; it performs better in the mornings, for everyday wear. You put it on in the morning and arrive home and you can still smell it. It smells rich, so I recommend it!
The 212 VIP Wins keeps the VIP DNA but adds that green touch from the bottle, mates. I love it and it works brilliantly for everyday wear, especially in the morning. You apply it and get home and you can still smell it. It smells rich; I recommend it!
An excellent choice for going to secondary school or university.
Well! This perfume is for fans of the VIP line spirit. If you like VIP Black and know it’s only suitable for cold days, fresh autumnal nights on weekends… and you want something similar for summer. This is your best option. VIP Wins has a notable yuzu note and a green aroma thanks to basil, without losing that VIP Black aura. Then it turns fruity, as if you were wearing a fruit cocktail with citrus and something sweet and clean, which I believe is lavender. In the end, the fragrance becomes slightly sweet without losing its heart notes. It’s youthful, for someone aged 22 to 30. It’s not formal; it’s for casual use: going out to eat or dinner on a terrace with friends while ordering drinks in summer or a sunny spring. Very good projection: 2 hours at half a metre. Longevity 7 hours on skin (on clothes until the next morning).
I barely noticed it when I first bought it and thought about selling it. Then, after several opportunities, it became one of the fragrances I use most. It’s versatile, one of those you wear when you don’t know what to choose, and it behaves very well with the heat. It’s somewhat green but sweet, without cloying anyone, nor does it stand out too much. It has more than acceptable performance and isn’t a mainstream scent.
Well, when expectations exceed reality. I bought this looking for a green yet pleasant scent, thinking perhaps it could be a VIP Black for daytime wear. It’s not entirely false, but it doesn’t quite convince me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s rich and my wife loves it, but I just don’t click with it. I was about to gift it, but the recipient never showed up. Now it’s my Sunday perfume for sunny days, for going out in shorts and a t-shirt, heading to the market, and so on. By the way, what I like most is its fresh opening.
At first, I was indifferent, thinking it was ‘a mass-market perfume, pleasant but nothing special’. Over time, using it daily, the truth is I’ve come to like it. It doesn’t smell synthetic or annoying like others; it feels very natural. I love the opening of yuzu and tangerine; it’s not sharp like in other fragrances (those that hurt your nose, no), it’s pleasant for the olfactory senses, neither strong nor weak. I see it as perfect for a sunny day with an informal shirt. It has a strange, soft accord that I think is skin; I prefer it for work over an Eros EDP, although for special occasions there are better options, even better than Eros. Anyway, an aroma that everyone likes, nothing new but rich.
A delicious citrus aroma, though I think it’s a bit too much. Poor projection, but the longevity on skin is good, around 8 hours. It’s very refreshing for hot climates.
The dry-down takes me straight to Versace Dylan Blue.
This one definitely smells of yuzu, the limited edition green bottle. It’s reminiscent of Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme, but the citrus notes are much more pronounced. However, something feels off: it smells of skin. It’s not the first time this has happened, but for Carolina Herrera to do this gives me a bit of a worry. The yuzu is fine, but that skin note leaves me unsure, especially in this green bottle.
