Too vintage, strong smell of talc, I usually appreciate fragrances that aren’t current, but unfortunately this one isn’t pleasant for me, there’s a bitter base in it that ruins whatever loveliness it might have, such a shame, it’s awful, impossible to wear.
I never had the chance to try the originals, those elongated deep red bottles that seemed to contain an ancient fire. If this version I hold in my hands is already an enveloping beauty, I can’t imagine what that initial formula must have been like. Samsara, even in its Eau de Toilette version, has a warmth that is mesmerising. It’s a fragrance that embraces you, that calls for autumn or winter, cool days when its trail unfolds like a veil of sandalwood and jasmine on the skin.
