I started with the blotter and it was fascinating: sweet with nutty hints and a subtle vanilla, then a hit of wood and an animalic oud kicks in – an absolute treat. On skin it’s almost the same but the order shifts: woods and oud come first, leaving the sparkling sweet notes in the background. My partner couldn’t stop smelling it; it was incredibly addictive and truly amazing.
For me (and many others), this is the best in the BTSO Extrait Extreme series so far, exploring an underused territory with that concentration that gives it such unique behaviour. At first, it was hard to pin down what it smelled of: a restrained sweetness, nut oils, and a elusive vanilla note, alongside dry woods, a creamy sandalwood base, and caramelised spices without any single one dominating. Soft as a second skin at first, but when it warms up or you sweat, it explodes into its best notes: saffron, flowers, and everything integrated… an experience! I suggest trying it to see its facets before buying.
