Raghba by Lattafa smells very similar, but the quality is on another level.

It’s sweet, with vanilla and caramel notes, a European touch, and a slight camphor hint. I find it feminine and ideal for those over 30. It’s not very potent or long-lasting; it reminds me of another scent but I can’t quite place it. I’d give it a 6.7.

If you love vanillas and the Arab style, this will suit your taste. At first, I wasn’t convinced by the close-up scent, but it lasts a long time and leaves a trail. It’s more feminine, with that Arab touch from the spiced base (saffron, perhaps?) and woody notes (sandalwood). It smells very sweet, but the vanilla isn’t that typical gourmand custard—what a relief! (Goodbye, Yves R). I see it as suitable for cold or mild weather because it can get cloying. There’s something reminiscent of A*Men: a sharp sweetness that, as it develops, gives a silky/powdery texture, very present in Cuba Prestige and which I associate with blackcurrants. Thanks to Emorandeira for the comparison, as I also suspected they were very similar. (I still haven’t got Shaghaf)

I love the scent; that blend of vanilla and woods is spectacular. The downside is that longevity and projection are moderate, average for current perfumery, though compared to Arab perfumes, they seem a little weaker. I bought it alongside the Shaghaf Oud by Swiss Arabian, and the scents are similar; Shaghaf has more florals and depth in the oud, whereas in Al Mazyoona the vanilla stands out, but the Swiss Arabian one wins by a landslide in longevity and projection, so I probably won’t repurchase this and when it runs out, I’ll buy the gold bottle. Al Mazyoona is more for daily wear, going out for lunch, or heading to work—I don’t see it for going out at night or wearing with a suit. That said, for the price, it’s worth it and I have no regrets. Scent 10, Longevity 7, Projection 6, Versatility 8, Value for money 10, Overall rating 8.
