  • I absolutely loved it: fresh, light, and very pleasant. It sits well on the skin with good chemistry. I respect the comparisons to Nenuco, but I don’t entirely agree; Amalfi Sunray isn’t quite so simple. The downside is that, being an eau de parfum, it behaves like an eau de toilette: after 5-6 hours, it’s gone. I see it as citrusy, sweet, perfect for a fresh spring or summer. It feels youthful, clever, and young. It’s ‘light’, functioning more like a cologne than a perfume. I wouldn’t wear it in autumn or winter, but yes in spring. I like it, but I don’t love it. For €15, it’s brilliant; I took the small 30ml bottle.

  • YezusPerfumo

A very soft aroma with a faint trail, more feminine than unisex. It conveys tranquility and invites you to relax. I found it a common scent, almost like generic home air fresheners; it seems ideal for scenting a spa area but I don’t see it as a cologne for men, even though it’s categorised as unisex, unless you want a unique scent. Its longevity could improve; more trail would be expected for a perfume.

  • Nenuco in perfume form. It horrified me more than anything; nothing I’d want less than going through life smelling like ‘baby’, besides that citrus note gives me a headache.

  • Nenuco in perfume form. It horrified me, nothing less. I couldn’t bear less than going through life smelling like ‘baby’, besides that citrus note gives me a headache.

  • In Spain, the family cologne Nenuco has been used for years; it’s an innocuous and initially pleasant water. It’s sold in one-litre bottles and its purpose is to refresh you in summer, style your hair when you’re a child, or simply smell good for ten minutes. The problem is that this lotion, due to its low price and army of clones, is also used for less pleasant purposes: masking bad odours. If a patient has defecated in a hospital, a whiff of Nenuco into the air; if someone has vomited on the bus, bring half a litre of Nenuco. For me, for years, it’s been impossible to smell anything like Nenuco without shuddering, because immediately I think of illness and lack of hygiene. Amalfi Sunray is a textbook Nenuco that after a quarter of an hour evolves into a S3 and associates water bottle scent. At first it’s sweeter, then harsher with the bergamot (by the way, a very ugly and medicinal one, similar to those in anti-louse lotions). In none of its phases do I feel comfortable wearing this; it smells to me, and it’s probably a mental quirk like Pavlov’s dog, reminding me of everything except cleanliness or anything nice, but the typical smell used for years in Spain to cover bad odours in care homes, asylums, and nurseries. P.S. I have nothing against the elderly, patients, or sick people, far from it, but the last thing I want in my life is to smell something that reminds me of that.

  • It has a bit of that Nenuco aspect that is so noticeable in Fleur d’Oranger, but mainly I smell the citrus notes. Mandarin or orange, something similar to Acqua di Parma but without the sweet note and with less presence and quality. It’s not bad, but it doesn’t offer much. It doesn’t perform very well.

  • As others mention, it’s very similar to Nenuco. Personally, I don’t think it can be compared to Neroli Portofino, nor do I think it should be dismissed outright just because it smells like the cologne everyone knows. Personally, I’m not buying it as it’s not something I identify with enough to wear outside the house, but I’ve always liked the scent of this cologne, and this Zara version lasts 3/4 hours on the skin instead of the original’s half an hour.

  • I share the opinion that it smells like Nenuco and lasts very little; for that, you buy the old-school Nenuco which is cheaper.

  • If it were sold in a one-litre bottle for 6 euros, well, because it’s a slightly finer Nenuco, less clinical (agreeing with @Espartaco: poor Nenuco ends up reminding us of everything we try to mask). But, by the way, Eau de Givenchy isn’t much better and costs more than double.

  • I tried it at a Zara. The initial blast was nice; I thought it smelled fresh. But that was it, just an instant. From then on, it felt like an outdated, old-fashioned scent. I don’t have the Nenuco aroma in my mind, but I understand the concept you’re all talking about. The truth is, I wouldn’t pay the 20€ the bottle costs.

  • Smells like that refreshing lemon granita that makes your mouth water – a sparkling, addictive freshness that awakens the senses. While it respects the classic Nenuco, this fragrance dares to go one step further: it has a more pronounced and present trail. It’s no coincidence that some compare it to that intense citrus aroma of bergamot. If you’re looking for something fresh and light without being heavy or cloying, you can buy it blind. Zara offers perfect pocket-sized bottles ideal for reapplying throughout the day, which is key to keeping that fleeting trail alive. It’s perfect after a shower, post-workout, or on unbearable hot days. Familiar and pleasant for everyone, it could even be an interesting option for children, although it’s not in the kids’ section. It’s a modern, distinguished evolution of the classic Nenuco, with a more lasting and original touch, perfect for those seeking something different without losing that essence.

  • THE LEMON GRANITA THAT REFRESHES THE SOUL. Amalfi Sunray smells like that lemon granita you can’t stop drinking, an addictive and sparkling freshness that awakens the senses. With all due respect to the iconic Nenuco, this fragrance dares to go one step further: it has a more marked and present trail, though it’s not surprising some compare it for that intense bergamot citrus scent. If you like citrus and fresh fragrances that aren’t heavy or cloying, you can buy it blind. Zara offers perfect pocket-sized bottles for reapplying during the day, which is the key to keeping that light and ephemeral trail alive. It’s a fragrance that comforts after a shower, ideal after sport or on those unbearable heat days. Familiar, simple, pleasant for everyone. And I’m thinking it could be a very interesting option for children, even if it’s not in the children’s section. It’s a more modern and distinguished alternative within that citrus and fresh style, a natural evolution of the classic Nenuco, with a more durable and original touch, perfect for those seeking something different without losing that familiar essence.

  • This smells like Ammens cologne; I like it because baby colognes tend to have a rather harsh synthetic and alcoholic touch. In Amalfi, the scent is pure orange blossom aroma and undifferentiated citrus mixed so they never separate.

  • Nothing to do with Nenuco; in fact, it came to confirm that, and as I’m not surprised, I’m not the only one. Since I believe everyone has tried Nenuco, it’s the best comparison for a review because if I hadn’t smelled Amalfi Sunray in the Jo Malone for Zara discovery set, I would have perfectly imagined what it smells like. I don’t think it adds much more than the other reviews; I simply confirm what many people have been commenting. It doesn’t last long on the skin; it’s a fresh water, an EDT… Very citrusy, little floral, though perhaps a tiny bit more floral than Nenuco. I had the habit of spraying my pillow with Nenuco years ago in summer and it didn’t last long; however, I tried this to give my pillow a fresh touch and it has greater longevity, so I’ll use it for that or to refresh myself on a day. It’s not bad, but it pretends to be too elevated and I still prefer Nenuco for quantity/price and an almost identical scent; it has a bit more longevity, but nothing to shout about and certainly not to call it an EDP. I must say it’s not the one I disliked most from the discovery set. Do I hate it? No, I love Nenuco. Would I buy it beyond the 4ml of the discovery set? Yes, I’ve felt the urge to go to the supermarket and buy a large bottle of Nenuco to spray on my pillows this summer.

Powerful and spicy citrus, it feels more like an English cologne. I bought it along with two other citrus scents from the Jo Malone Emotions collection… Fleur D’Oranger and Vetiver Pamplemousse, and in the end, I’m sticking with those two more than this one.

  • Carlo Mendez

Nothing more or less, it smells like a classic cologne of old, less alcoholic and with more emphasis on the orange blossom notes. It smells good, doesn’t stand out, but it’s always good to have such a scent in the collection. Longevity of about 2 hours, projects better when you’re exercising. Scent: 6/10, Longevity 1/10, Projection 6/10, Satisfactions 6/10 [NOT RECOMMENDED]. There are thousands of fragrances that smell like cologne, the longevity is poor, so if you find it for under $25, go ahead, but don’t even think about buying it from there.

Of course it smells like a classic citrus cologne, English style or 4711, but here there is something more that the perfumer wanted to tell. The citrus notes are very natural, as in the whole line, fresher than the rest of Zara. Specifically: I can’t find another similar one; it’s citrus and floral, with orange blossom dominating everything. Ideal for summer and spring mornings, then switch to another; I mix it with Ebony Wood and they work brilliantly. Lasts 4-5 hours on my personal sphere and much longer on clothes. I picked it up at Zara for £59.90, a laughable price, as the whole Emotions line was on sale. For me, it’s a unique experience; they offer something different and creative.

Obviously it recalls classic citrus colognes, like English or 4711, but there’s something more here that the perfumer wanted to convey. The citrus notes are quite natural, as with the whole line, more natural than the rest of Zara. Specifically: I have nothing similar; it’s citrusy and floral, with a lot of orange blossom as the predominant note. Ideal for summer or spring mornings, then change. I mix it with Ebony Wood and they work brilliantly. Longevity: 4-5 hours on the personal sphere, it lasts longer on clothes. I picked it up at Zara for $59.90, a laughable, derisory price, as the Emotions line was on clearance. For me it’s an experience; they offer something different and creative.

A few months ago I finished my bottle of Amalfi Sunray. A wonderful perfume, super fresh, pure citrus, pure happiness 💖. Ideal for hot days and when you’ve just stepped out of the shower.

  • I’ll just say it’s a scent from the gods 😍 One of the most exquisite I’ve tried 🕉️🕉️🕉️

  • A worthy dupe of Dior’s Escale à Portofino; on the skin, they are almost indistinguishable. Few notes, well-constructed, an exquisite, expensive Nenuco. Well done.

A Mediterranean, fresh, and luminous cologne. My advice: let it air out for a week or more before using it; spray it several times to let air in, as these light scents need to gain body. It reminds me strongly of Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino, but it’s not a clone. The stars are the neroli and orange blossom (which are not the same aromatically), accompanied by bergamot that gives it a bright finish. A subtle white floral sweetness (not gourmand) completes the experience. It’s simple, recognisable, and very pleasant. A cologne for the whole family with better quality than supermarket brands and more longevity, within reason: about 3 or 4 hours. It’s no problem given the price; it’s better to reapply with three sprays every two hours than to douse yourself with fifteen and not smell anything by hour five. But everyone has their own taste. The thick glass bottle and the heavy, magnetic cap, Louis Vuitton style, are a ten. Natural for spring and summer, for daytime. You won’t be surprised aromatically, but it’s very pleasant and easy to wear.

  • Sofisticado

What a joy this Zara perfume is. Ideal for kicking off a summer day with energy, sparkle, and a desire to enjoy life without complications. It’s a classic cologne with a modern twist, avoiding the excess neroli found in other options. Very balanced and with a more than decent longevity for its essence. If you’re looking for something fresh, neutral, and clean for short daily activities, it’s a great choice. P.S. I won’t get into the debate with those who say it smells like ‘Nenuco’ (open to discussion), because many of those same people spend their day smelling of chewing gum, sweets, vanilla ice cream, or lemon tarts. Live and let live.

  • Sofisticado

A delightful surprise with this Zara perfume. The perfect perfume to get up on a summer morning and feel revitalised, sparkling, with no pretensions other than feeling clean and eager to eat the day. A classic cologne profile with some modern touches, without leaning too much towards neroli like other options in the same profile. Very well-balanced fragrance in my opinion, with more than potable performance considering its DNA. If you want to feel fresh, neutral, and clean in summer for daily activities of short duration, it’s a great option. P.S. I save myself from judging those who demonise this perfume for smelling like ‘Nenuco’ (to be discussed) when they’re out there smelling like chewing gum, sweets, vanilla ice cream, or lemon tart. Live to see.
