  I ditched the normal Amber Oud Gold for being too fruity and childish, so I tried the Extreme based on comments that it is more mature and of higher quality. It was a hit. It only shares the tip of the olfactory pyramid with the original. This is an extract in its entirety: strong, high quality, and leaves the skin radiant, surpassing the first version. It opens with intense fruits and green notes to avoid the ‘bag of sweets’ effect. The dry-down is top-notch, musky, and ambered. On my skin, it lasts from morning until 9 PM. The presentation and engineering confirm that Al Haramain holds an undisputed position in the Arab market. Ideal for leisure and night outings, perfect for the 30-40 age group without clashing. An alternative to Polo Red Intense. Buy blind: yes.

  Traditional Amber Oud Gold base with an extra touch of wood that makes it more masculine and less casual. Very good aroma quality, although longevity and projection remain moderate.

  The best dupe of Erba Pura, unlike the Ana Abiyedh which made me hate the DNA. The opening is potent with the Amber Oud Gold base but with more masculinity. Moderate projection (3 hours) but good longevity (8 hours). After 3 hours, delicious amber and vanilla notes sit close to the skin; personally, I don’t notice as much wood as the notes sheets suggest. Unbeatable value for money. Versatile, but it shines more at night; during the day, be careful with sprays to avoid bothering others. Afnan does not disappoint on presentation, box, and bottle, which look more expensive. This will be my signature scent as long as the 60ml bottle lasts.

  Excellent product, 2024 batch with a year of age and impeccable packaging, including the box and an empty refillable bottle. Sweet, fruity, and spiced aroma: a gourmand opening with soft pineapple and florals, a warm amber heart, and an accentuated woody base. It smells ‘expensive’, is delicious on its own, and leaves a long trail. On skin, it lasts over 12 hours (even after showering) and on clothes around 24, very sparkling. Watch out! Use it in cold climates; in heat, it can become invasive, annoying, and suffocating.

  The Extreme is the ultimate evolution of the Gold Edition: it retains that fruity-sweet DNA of Erba Pura but features a more solid wood note that gives it a masculine, substantial character. It moves away from the ‘fruity shampoo’ vibe to become more robust, with a warm dry-down that makes it stand out. Nuclear performance: it lasts over 12 hours on skin and much longer on clothes, with a noticeable trail all day. If the Gold was a best-seller, this Extreme version takes it to the next level in terms of quality, masculinity, and potency. The best option in the saga if you want character without losing sweetness.
