The illustrious Maurice Carbonell has released a fragrance with an Alexandria II vibe (also his own). To me, it sounds softer and less potent; I barely smell it unless I bring my nose very close. Given that it’s the same perfumer as Croxatto, I’m not surprised. The scent has that oriental air that conjures images of sand, with a soft pink-oud combination, a warm woody hint, and a touch of sweetness. The worst part (apart from the performance) is that on my skin, it dries down to a very acidic note with a vinegar-like edge. At first, I thought it might be the day, but I’ve tested it several times in the perfumery and got the same result. It’s not like that on the blotter, where it smells more pleasant and elegant. Vinegary note, price around 180 euros, average performance, made by Carbonell. Thumbs down, au revoir!
