If Gallagher usually uses patchouli as a signature, here he pays tribute to it in all its facets. It opens with an explosion of orange: some ripe and sweet, others green and bright, plus bitter orange blossom. All this blends with a chocolate accord that, without being sharp, merges with creamy tones that remind me of sandalwood. This clean sweetness accompanies the entire life of the perfume, closing with vanilla hints. The longevity is good and natural, though it’s more for personal enjoyment; on my skin it doesn’t project much, staying in an intimate bubble that only those nearby will notice. Despite being gourmand, it’s versatile and suitable almost all year round, though it shines more in cooler months. If you like Symphonium, Velvet Chocolat, or Gourmantic Orange, here is an excellent variation without repeating them.

BP has surprised me. I’m not usually a fan of gourmands, but I loved this because it reminded me of another fragrance I adore. The opening is citrusy, orange, and chocolatey, like chocolate chip cookies with orange marmalade. As it dries down, that combination fades but doesn’t disappear, being replaced by a VERY potent musk that dominates the trail and lasts a long time. I don’t see it as so much amber; it does have aldehydes and lots of tasty, tamed patchouli (the one recreating the chocolate), but those three notes predominate, starting with the orange. What surprised me most is that, as another reviewer said, it reminds me of Musc Ravageur and it’s true: the dry-down is identical, the same musk. If MR is vanilla-musky, this is chocolate-musky. Behold Patchouli caught me off guard. It begins with an orange citrus touch that gives way quickly to chocolate, a super gourmand opening that instantly reminded me of candied oranges bathed in chocolate. Then incense and amber come to the fore, with a touch of aldehydes; the patchouli is there but in its wetter, earthier version, worked with great elegance. It becomes creamy, dark, and intense; I wouldn’t wear it during the day, it’s more for the evening. At the end, I notice the musk, the sandalwood, and tiny vanilla notes. The longevity and projection are brutal; by 10 hours it was already skin-scented (and yet people could still smell it when they came close). Unisex.
