Pleasant fragrance. Green and spicy, very luminous. Contains violet leaves, cumin, cedar, and sandalwood. A good beginning that leads to a middle phase with more balanced earthy and woody notes. It follows the line of Buveur De Vent, but fresher and spicier. The difference is the cumin, which adds a sensual touch without being overpowering. Good longevity: 8-9 hours with moderate projection for the first three, until it sits close to the skin by hour 7. Timeless, not intense or heavy, a good option for interviews: discreet, elegant, and charming. I lean towards masculine, but it is unisex. For those over 25. Scent 8.5/10, Sillage 7.5/10, Projection 7/10, Longevity 7.5/10.

Wow! What a magnificent fragrance Bête Humaine is. What a delicious aroma. It begins spectacularly with pristine, green, and real violet leaves, giving way to a cumin that makes a masterful counterpoint, making it extremely sensual. The projection isn’t huge but it is felt. It is addictive and I will discover more perfumes from this house, because what I have tried has been very good. It has a herbal presence in all its phases, with cumin softened by woods in the base. Totally recommended.

  • This isn’t for interviews or the office. If you grasp the concept of creation, you know this isn’t a generic: there is a story, a statement that rises above the commercial. Wearing it to the office to compete with colleagues smells like killing the perfume and its art. I say this as a designer: sometimes users turn a craft product into a fashion statement and ruin it. The scent is subjective due to pH, context, and weather; on me it smells of minted violet, chestnuts, dry resinous woods, moss, and sometimes liquor. The quality is indisputable. It is dark and dense, yet beautiful. Many people have a dark side without ceasing to be lovely. I wear it for walking, thinking, meditating; I leave the city and step into a forest with wet flowers, even if imaginary. It stays close to the skin for 12 hours and projects for about 6 hours at 1.5 metres.

  • Smells like a softer version of Amouage Fate Man. The scent is good, but it’s too heavy on clothes until yesterday; not so much on the skin.
