Dom Rosa by Les Liquides Imaginaires is an oriental floral creation designed for men and women. Launched in 2013, this fragrance was composed by perfumer Sonia Constant. Its olfactive structure unfolds with top notes of champagne, grapefruit and pear; a heart of Damask rose, cloves and frankincense; and a woody base blending cedar, vetiver and guaiac wood.

The champagne note caught my attention, but it doesn’t last long on my skin… it opens very spicy; I thought it was pink pepper, but it’s cloves, quite sharp at first. Then it settles a bit, remaining on the skin as a spiced, woody rose with barely perceptible hints of champagne. I liked it, but I didn’t fall in love with it. I find it unisex due to its strong spice, so I’d wear it at night. Longevity and sillage are moderate. I wouldn’t buy it again.

I adore it. It smells of fresh roses with champagne (though it fades quickly in my opinion) and cloves. It doesn’t evolve much, but it’s lovely. Suddenly, I catch a fruity wine note. It feels fresh, very versatile for day or night, and thanks to the spice, ideal for cool days. Bought blind, and it’s been a great success for my collection.

I imagine it for Christmas Eve, New Year’s, or dinners with friends, although it’s hot here at that time of year. On the skin, it transforms into a delicious fruity and floral wine; it’s not dense or overly spicy. I’m very happy with the purchase. As I have many perfumes, I went for the 50ml, which has a beautiful presentation, but I’ll surely return for the 100ml when I finish it. I recommend trying it to experience it.
