Dutti Sport by Massimo Dutti is an aromatic fougère fragrance for men. Launched in 1998, this composition was created by perfumer Ramon Monegal. In its opening, the top notes unfold with citrus, mint, red apple, and lychee. The heart of the fragrance reveals lavender, bigarade orange blossom, geranium, nutmeg, cinnamon, and anise. Finally, the base notes settle with vetiver, Virginia cedar, oakmoss, rhubarb, musk, and French labdanum.

I have the blue version; I see there’s another with a different bottle, surely reformulated, but I don’t think there’s any difference. It’s a perfume that’s utterly forgettable; I have it because it was a gift and my wife hates it, I’ve never received a compliment, in fact one or the other disapproves, hehehe. It doesn’t last, doesn’t project and the bottle is ugly, it clashes with my other perfumes. Not recommended at all, I don’t know how it’s still on the market. Update: I’ve changed my mind, the bottle isn’t unpleasant, only the cap seems to be of poor quality. The fragrance is synthetic but economical, pleasant and a little sweet, similar to Nautica Voyage. I never received compliments, although I don’t look for them. I’ve already finished it, it lasts about 4-5 hours in suitable weather with an average one-hour projection. I think I was unfair; I won’t get it again unless it’s a gift.
I have the crystal version. The first impression is fresh, clean and neutral; hard to dislike. On the other hand, it doesn’t turn heads. It’s versatile for any season. The problem is that it disappears completely in under an hour. You only notice a very faint semi-sweet scent if you press your nose right against the skin. It’s disappointing how quickly it loses its punch. I’m going to look for a substitute with better longevity.
Stay away from the crystal version like the plague. It’s one of the worst reformulations I’ve ever encountered: outrageously synthetic, coarse and brutal. There are better-made versions in China. Nothing like the charming sport scent of the blue bottle. I bought it out of nostalgia, as it was my teenage perfume… but if you see the transparent bottle, run, fools.
