After wearing it for several days, the bitter orange blossom really stands out: it’s green, leaning more towards petitgrain than neroli. That’s why the ylang-ylang also smells wonderfully fresh here. The sandalwood sweetens it with a classic candied effect, while the patchouli adds earthiness, tempering the sweetness. The only special thing is that ylang-ylang, which brings richness and soft, powdery green floral tones. At first, it smells a bit like soap, but in warm weather it suits it perfectly; in the cold, not so much.

I tried it at the freeshop in Lima and upon spraying, I thought of the scent of cutting fennel for a salad. As it dried, I was reminded of Chanel 19 EDP, but this Private stays fresh and crisp, whereas the Chanel becomes sweet and creamy. In the base, there’s a lovely aquatic note that won me over immediately. I went back home, returned to the freeshop, and bought 50ml. I sprayed 4 or 5 times on my neck and it feels a bit suffocating; however, the performance is excellent. According to Fragrantica, it has linden, jasmine, and citrus in the top; bitter orange, ylang-ylang, and coriander in the heart; and sandalwood, patchouli in the base. I understand the synergy between the sweet sandalwood and the round green florals: creamy, green, and radiant flowers. They say it’s a green floral chypre and they’re right. In the end, the patchouli gains body; I thought it had leather, but it’s a woody note, barely earthy, with no cleaning or medicinal smell.
