Acceptable. Looking for an alternative to Dior Homme, I found this Zara 9.0 Extreme since the original is discontinued. It’s a heavy cologne that lasts and projects a lot. The scent doesn’t convince me: a good floral and sharp opening, then a pleasant woody note, but soon only a heavy synthetic iris remains that becomes tiring. It’s masculine but could be unisex. I’ve received compliments; it smells good, but it’s not for me.
I bought it because the original 9.0 wasn’t available and I was using that. The Extreme is different: more floral, sharp, and intense. It resembles L’Homme Ideal at first, but once it dries down, it smells very much like Valentino Uomo (in terms of price-to-quality, it’s worth more). It’s far from Dior Homme. Longevity is good, with a trail of 1 to 2 metres for the first 3 hours; it’s sharp and seductive, then stays close, becoming warmer and sweeter. Very good for cold days, winter nights, or autumn.
If you’re looking to replace the 9.0, choose the CLASSIC, not the Extreme. This one has a barbershop opening, lavender foam, and a sharp synthetic note. It lacks iris, so it’s nothing like the 9.0. Longevity is acceptable and the dry-down is chocolatey, but buying it just for that doesn’t make much sense.
Smells like L’Homme Ideal EDP. It’s a pleasant woody scent and the right choice for going out if you’re looking for something cheap.
