Fame Parfum by Rabanne

Mango and sandalwood. It strikes me as very similar to the original, yet with a creamy wood note that makes it more nocturnal and mature. It feels less childish; I’ve received many compliments. The longevity is decent, lasting around 6 to 7 hours. I love wearing it with black clothing; it elevates the look and adds a touch of sexiness. It definitely draws compliments, it’s very striking, though you must truly enjoy the sandalwood to pull it off.

A very rich fragrance where frankincense and mango stand out. I prefer it for night and in the cold. Despite being good, the longevity isn’t what I’m looking for; I had to reapply it twice in one night (I like to smell strong and leave a trail), and this just doesn’t do that. Compared to the Fame (silver dress), I lean more towards the Fame: they smell very similar, almost identical, but the Fame lasts longer and has a stronger trail. In short, it’s good, the only downside is that the frankincense fades quickly and the mango is the same as in the Fame.

I bought it blind because the bottle looked cool. It’s quite an intense perfume; the spray smelled of wood, making me wonder if it was as summery as they claimed, until I tried it on a cold night and woooow. The frankincense, musk, and wood exploded in full glory. With extensive longevity, my clothes still smelled the next day. Definitely a wonderful autumn/winter perfume.

At first, it smells very much of mango, but after 10-15 minutes I notice the jasmine without losing the mango. It smells good at first, but at times it reminds me of the smell of gas… It’s very strange; I first thought it tasted rich, then that gas smell, but intense. I wore it on my skin and still perceive it afterwards. I’m not sure what’s causing it; I imagine it’s my own sense of smell. However, in the dry-down, that smell fades and it feels creamier. Personally, I didn’t like it; it’s very intense, sweet, and has that strange smell…

It’s hilarious. A perfume costing nearly €100 that smells like multi-fruit juice. Every time I smell it, I’m transported back in time to when Mum was setting the table, with macaroni and tomato sauce and a glass of juice watching The Simpsons. Although with a touch of luxury and glamour, hehe. Don’t get the wrong idea; it smells superb, not heavy, almost clean and fresh. I feel like wearing it both in the morning and when I go out or stay in. It’s VERY versatile. The scent is VERY rich but lacks a bit of sparkle, precisely because it’s fresh and clean. The trail is good, but the longevity on my skin is shorter than it should be. In my opinion, it’s worth having for daily wear, even.

Super tropical perfume; the mango is much more noticeable than in the original silver dress version. This one lasts many more hours on the skin; the aroma is delicious and very versatile. I’m wearing it during the day in winter, but it will surely look lovely on summer nights. Plus, the bottle is beautiful.

A gift from my mum; at first I thought it was masculine, but once I tried it properly, I fell in love. Dry down is super fruity and woody, an exquisite, delicate mango that gives off a feminine, sweet, innocent vibe. Lasted 7–8 hours on skin and over two days on clothes, which is great longevity. My mum never misses; all her gifts are unforgettable, and I adore this one.

Delicious aroma, ideal for cold weather and autumn; it’s the perfect balance between fresh and sweet. Starts citrusy, then incense, before the mango blends with sandalwood to create a creamy, sweet touch. It makes me feel clean and wrapped up, like a safe haven. It’s become my favourite of 2024; it’s addictive. You have to try it to believe it; I recommend buying it blind. It’s exquisite and I won’t tire of it.

You wouldn’t believe it, tastes may vary, but it has an incredible trail that lasts for days and projects metres away. Stop giving opinions out of olfactory fatigue and asking hours later if it still smells. Don’t ruin perfumes by saying silly things just because you can’t smell anything.

At first, the bergamot and mango make it fresh, sweet, creamy and fruity; the mango stands out much more than in the original. In the heart, the jasmine is sweeter and more fragrant thanks to the mango, without overpowering it. As it dries, the creamy mango combines with sandalwood; the dry down is more prominent than in the original. It lasts between 5 hours 30 minutes with moderate projection.

This perfume is more intense than the original Fame. I love both, but in the original I don’t sense mango, just lots of bergamot; here the mango is much more pronounced. The sandalwood, resins and incense make it perfect for night, especially on cold evenings.

I tried it in-store and have to say it’s identical to the first one. Only that this one makes me feel it even more… I applied it to the back of my left hand and with every movement I felt an aromatic breeze. In the opening, I don’t sense the mango; it’s somewhat alcoholic…, but after half an hour the mango 🥭 emerges alongside the sandalwood. It’s nice; I don’t sense the incense or resins at all, and I fear my subconscious is a victim of marketing into believing it’s more long-lasting and intense. To be honest, I think it’s the same now, blatantly identical, but in a black bottle. I’m unsure whether to add it to my wishlist or not…
