Fame Parfum by Rabanne

I received this as a birthday gift. At first, I felt it was slightly masculine in the opening, having only tested it on my wrist. Since I couldn’t return it as the box was already opened, I wore it anyway. Then, after several sprays, I fell in love, especially with the dry-down: it smells super fruity yet woody at the same time. I’ve never had a perfume smell of mango with such exquisite refinement! It’s a delicate fragrance with feminine vibes, sweet, innocent, and playful—a wonderful discovery. It lasted about 7 or 8 hours on my skin and more than two days on my clothes; for me, that’s good performance. My mother never misses, all her gifts are unforgettable, and I’m loving this one a lot.

It’s a work of art, potent and lasts a very long time. It evokes a party and shouts ‘let’s go’, performing beautifully. I’ve loved it. As I also own the silver suit Fame, which I see as more for daily wear in summer and spring, this completes the set for autumn and winter. With both, you’re recognisable by your scent: they’re similar but with different intensity and reach. It smells sophisticated and modern, with complexity in uniting the clean and fruity with the musky and talc-like. The mango reminds me of pineapple or sweet, juicy tropical fruits. There are also flowers like jasmine and rose, almost hidden, just like the woods and a velvet note similar to cashmere.

I tried it in-store and have to say it’s identical to the first one. Only that this one makes me feel it even more… I applied it to the back of my left hand and with every movement I felt an aromatic breeze. In the opening, I don’t sense the mango; it’s somewhat alcoholic…, but after half an hour the mango 🥭 emerges alongside the sandalwood. It’s nice; I don’t sense the incense or resins at all, and I fear my subconscious is a victim of marketing into believing it’s more long-lasting and intense. To be honest, I think it’s the same now, blatantly identical, but in a black bottle. I’m unsure whether to add it to my wishlist or not…

A very rich fragrance where frankincense and mango stand out. I prefer it for night and in the cold. Despite being good, the longevity isn’t what I’m looking for; I had to reapply it twice in one night (I like to smell strong and leave a trail), and this just doesn’t do that. Compared to the Fame (silver dress), I lean more towards the Fame: they smell very similar, almost identical, but the Fame lasts longer and has a stronger trail. In short, it’s good, the only downside is that the frankincense fades quickly and the mango is the same as in the Fame.

At first, it smells very much of mango, but after 10-15 minutes I notice the jasmine without losing the mango. It smells good at first, but at times it reminds me of the smell of gas… It’s very strange; I first thought it tasted rich, then that gas smell, but intense. I wore it on my skin and still perceive it afterwards. I’m not sure what’s causing it; I imagine it’s my own sense of smell. However, in the dry-down, that smell fades and it feels creamier. Personally, I didn’t like it; it’s very intense, sweet, and has that strange smell…

Smells very good, although it’s not among my favourites. Many people say it smells fantastic and ask what perfume it is. It feels both sexy and elegant at the same time. I love wearing it in winter, especially at night. It’s an intense and very distinctive scent. If you feel comfortable wearing it at 100%, I recommend you do so, but if you prefer to be more discreet, you’ll feel uncomfortable because it’s very noticeable.

At first, the bergamot and mango make it fresh, sweet, creamy and fruity; the mango stands out much more than in the original. In the heart, the jasmine is sweeter and more fragrant thanks to the mango, without overpowering it. As it dries, the creamy mango combines with sandalwood; the dry down is more prominent than in the original. It lasts between 5 hours 30 minutes with moderate projection.

I bought it blind because the bottle looked cool. It’s quite an intense perfume; the spray smelled of wood, making me wonder if it was as summery as they claimed, until I tried it on a cold night and woooow. The frankincense, musk, and wood exploded in full glory. With extensive longevity, my clothes still smelled the next day. Definitely a wonderful autumn/winter perfume.

Third time’s the charm. A summery perfume that smells very good, milky mango and jasmine. Without doubt the best of the three Fames in quality. It’s noticeable, with a soft to moderate trail and lasts about 2 or 3 hours. I like it very much, but I’ll stick with my Marc Jacobs Daisy Ever So Fresh, which has citrus mango and additionally rose and cashmere.

Super tropical perfume; the mango is much more noticeable than in the original silver dress version. This one lasts many more hours on the skin; the aroma is delicious and very versatile. I’m wearing it during the day in winter, but it will surely look lovely on summer nights. Plus, the bottle is beautiful.

This smells stronger than the original Fame. Of course, I love both, but in the original I don’t detect the mango; there, bergamot dominates. In the Parfum, the mango is much more pronounced. The sandalwood, resins, and incense make it perfect for the evening, especially on cold nights :3

In my opinion, it boils down to coconut. You can sense that tropical and summery vibe. It can work well in any season and at any time. I consider it an informal fragrance. But I think if you want to smell like coconut, there are options much cheaper.

I’m in love with this perfume; a clean, fresh, and sweet scent, with a milky mango that stands out hugely. It’s elegant and versatile, very long-lasting.
