Descripción

Far Away Beyond The Moon by Avon is a floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2023, this composition was created by Olivier Gillotin, Hernan Fígoli and Marypierre Julien. Its olfactive pyramid unfolds with top notes of cherry, pink pepper and blackberry; a heart of night-blooming jasmine, neroli and aquatic fruit; and a base evoking sandalwood, Madagascar vanilla and milk.

  • I love it. The first time I wore it, I ended up looking like I was asking ‘What is this?’ because it sounded familiar yet I couldn’t identify what it was. I gave it another chance and liked it a lot. It starts floral, then sandalwood comes in, followed by the sweetness of cherry and vanilla. To me, it’s super warm and makes me feel comforted, like a lovely hug. I think it’s a matter of each person’s pH, but I’m obsessed with it alongside Far Away Beyond, Glamour and Rebel; I seem to pick up almost all the notes of those and they’re very pleasant. Over time they become subtle but they persist.

  • I’m absolutely obsessed. The first time I wore it, I ended up looking like I was asking ‘What is this?’ because it sounded familiar yet I couldn’t identify what it was. I gave it another chance and fell in love. It starts floral, then sandalwood comes in, followed by the sweetness of cherry and vanilla. To me, it’s super warm and makes me feel comforted, like a lovely hug. I think it depends on everyone’s pH, but it works brilliantly for me alongside Far Away Beyond, Glamour and Rebel; I seem to pick up almost all the notes of those and they’re very pleasant. Over time they become subtle but they persist.

I just picked it up and, to be honest, it hasn’t left me too surprised. It smells quite a bit like the other Far Away scents, except for Royale, Infinity and Exotic Glamour, which I believe are the best in the range. I still can’t detect the cherry; I only smell sandalwood and vanilla, notes I adore, but the cherry and night-blooming jasmine are barely noticeable. It’s not a bad perfume, but it’s not one I’d buy again. I’m still testing it and giving it a fair chance.

  • It launches with a potent, sharp cherry, nothing like syrup, with a sweet citrus hint reminiscent of orange. Floral-woody notes appear immediately; the vanilla is only noticeable once it dries, but the sweetness comes from that citrus fruit. It’s distinct from the classic Far Away and has nothing to do with Beyond. It feels like good quality, with body and super lovely for everyday wear: it has character but is a tasty blend of fruity, citrus, floral and woody, almost linear. It’s not old-fashioned, definitely for over 25, with elegance and versatility for informal or semi-formal occasions, almost an all-rounder. I don’t see it for very hot climates. The initial potency drops to 15 minutes, with high/moderate sillage and a duration of 4 hours.

  • It has a very potent opening of acidic cherry (not the syrup cherry), I could also think of an orange because it is quite citrusy and sweet. Immediately comes the floral-woody note. The vanilla is perceived at the dry-down, but the sweetness doesn’t come from there, but from a citrus fruit. It is totally different from the classic Far Away and nothing to do with the Beyond. It feels of good quality, with body, and I find it super lovely for daily wear: it has character but it is a pleasant combination between fruity, citrus, floral and woody, which is perceived almost linearly. I don’t feel it as stately, but rather for over 25. It has elegance and versatility for informal or semi-formal occasions, it could even be an all-rounder. I don’t see it for very hot climates. The initial potency drops in 15 minutes, with a high to moderate trail and 4 hours longevity.

  • I love it; it matches what someone said about it being comforting. It has plenty of vanilla but it doesn’t feel heavy; I’m sure it’s the cherry that keeps it from being sweet or artificial, making it juicy with a hint of acidity. Despite the ‘nocturnal’ design, it works brilliantly for the day; with autumn just arrived and the fresh weather, it feels fantastic, ideal for quiet outings or something a bit more formal. I can really smell the cherry and the flowers, though it reminds me of another perfume and isn’t super original; it does have quality and personality. I have the ‘night-blooming cactus’ plant from the photo, that white cactus flower, and I don’t find a resemblance; that flower is very intense, almost narcotic, whereas the perfume’s scent is sweeter and softer. It reminds me more of the other ‘night-blooming’ flower (mirabilis jalapa), the one with multicoloured bell-shaped flowers that bloom at dusk, which is why I associate it with informal gatherings and it relaxes me. If it’s true that the initial potency drops to 15/20 minutes on my skin and lasts about four or five hours, over time it becomes more vanilla and woody. I think the magical and lunar aspect is more at the beginning 🌙🌺

  • Super delicious, I agree with the review below that says it is comforting. It is very vanilla-scented, but it doesn’t feel heavy to me, perhaps because of the cherry, which is neither super sweet nor artificial, it is juicy and half acidic. Despite the ‘nocturnal’ design, I am liking it a lot for daily wear; autumn has started here and it is fresh, and it is going brilliantly. It suits a quiet outing or something formal. I detect a lot of cherry and flowers, it reminds me a bit of another perfume, it is not super original, but it feels quality and has personality. I have the ‘night-blooming cereus’ plant (epiphyllum oxypetalum) and I don’t detect that resemblance; that flower is very intense and narcotic, but the one in the perfume is sweeter and softer. It reminds me more of the other ‘night-blooming flower’ (mirabilis jalapa), with multi-coloured bells that bloom at dusk, which is why I associate it with informal gatherings and it feels relaxing to me. If it is true that the initial potency drops in 15/20 minutes, on my skin it lasts about four or five hours; over time it feels more vanilla-scented and woody. Rich, sweet and feminine. The downside is that it doesn’t last long, but long enough for autumn and winter nights.

  • Last night I went to a friend’s house and saw this perfume on her shelf. It has a potent opening like the scents I like, but what I loved was the dry-down. I thought it had patchouli, but it is the sandalwood that gives it presence, and the cherry feels sweet, nothing synthetic. I consider it a nocturnal perfume or for winter days.

  • I came across this perfume at a friend’s house yesterday and tried it; the opening is potent, just as I like, but what caught me was the dry-down. I thought it was patchouli, but it’s the sandalwood that gives it presence, with a touch of sweet cherry and nothing synthetic. It’s my perfume for the evening or for winter days.

  • I like it more than the original. It is youthful, elegant, cherry-scented, aquatic and very wearable. Very refined, ideal for a summer night or for going to work. It suits a formal event or going out with friends. The fresh aroma of aquatic fruits and neroli makes it modern and perfect for the heat. The vanilla gives the final touch with the sandalwood. It can be gifted without fear, hard to find someone who won’t like it. Edit: it has a flaw, it lasts very little on the skin. It could be a 10, but for the longevity it is a 5.

  • It’s super nocturnal and, on my skin, it shows it’s unisex due to that woody tint. It smells fantastic and lasts a long time. Although it’s potent, it has a fresh touch that prevents it from being cloying; it’s complex, rich and highly recommended.

  • PitrufaLuz

I bought the last bottle in vintage format, completely blind (it was missing a year and a half according to the label). At first I thought I’d lost my money, it smelled hatefully floral, but as it dried it changed. I find it spicy and penetrating, sometimes floral, sometimes vanilla-scented. It is potent, so it is perfect for use at night and in winter.

  • It is very nocturnal and for me it leans towards unisex, because on my skin that woody tint is very noticeable. It is a very good perfume with excellent longevity. Although it is potent, it has a fresh touch that saves it from being cloying. It is complex and rich, highly recommended.

  • The opening smells of artificial cherry and it cloyed me quite a bit. Then it disappears and becomes something sweet and soft. I didn’t like it much and it didn’t last on me at all.

  • The opening is an artificial cherry that cloyed me quite a bit. Then it disappears and turns something sweet and soft. I didn’t like it much and it didn’t last either.

  • At times it sounds youthful and very original, yet at the same time reminds me of a classic I can’t quite place, giving it a familiar air. I find it very lovely, feminine and perfect for winter: it is strong, sweet, fruity and with a floral touch.

A winter evening with ‘Far Away Beyond the Moon’: delicious, elegant and playful. It begins with a sweet-and-sour blackberry and an acidic, green, unripe cherry. The neroli wraps everything, even more than the night-blooming flower. There’s a sway between the acidic and the sweet. As it dries, vanilla, sandalwood and woods come forward. Ideal for the nights; more than four hours after application, it still retains its full intensity.
