Dior Addict Eau Sensuelle by Dior

I bought this blindly this summer. I normally adore Eau Sensuelle fragrances, such as Dior’s Hypnotic Poison or Mugler’s Aura, but this is undoubtedly the worst I’ve tried from the brand. It smells like bath soap.

Dior Addict Eau Sensuelle is one of Dior’s most consistent flankers, although ironically it suffers from market irrelevance. It makes no pretence of complexity; its depth is easy for any rose lover to understand. The rose and jasmine blend is my favourite (like in Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle or Creed’s Aventus), and here the rose is fresh, realistic and honest, comparable to Yves Rocher’s Moment de Bonheur. It evolves simply and discreetly; after just one spray, you can smell it all over the body. It’s a sharp, elegant and almost voluptuous combination, with a timeless musk note reminiscent of Narciso Rodriguez For Her. The surprise is a woody cedar note that appears reluctantly after several hours. It doesn’t seem to innovate compared to the original, nor does it try to; it feels like an illegitimate child between Narciso Rodriguez For Her and Chloé Eau de Parfum. I’ve liked it a lot. It’s not intense, it’s delicate and doesn’t transgress. The longevity is around six hours, but it stands out for its versatility. Nothing overwhelming, simple and with great appeal. Fragile yet irascible, eloquent yet introverted… Eau Sensuelle is fun and coherent with Dior Addict. If you like roses or jasmine, you’ll love it.

It’s a super delicate and floral fragrance, perfect for spring. It lasts a long time on my skin, and by the end of the day it leaves a super soft trail, almost powdery, very feminine. Edit: it’s a perfume I would love to have again.

When I wanted to buy Dior Addict 2 for the second time, it was already out of stock! I nearly died! They let me try this one and I loved it. It’s very talcum-like but floral, very delicate. It’s ideal for spring: not intense enough for the cold and too heavy for summer. It has a very pronounced sillage; every time I wear it, someone asks me what perfume I’m using. I’d give it an 8/10.

It smells very nice; it is very sweet but not in an offensive way. The woody notes of cedar are almost imperceptible; on my skin it smells mainly of jasmine and roses.

Thanks to a very friendly staff member at a shopping centre, I managed to get a load of samples. I loved it so much that I’m down to just one bottle left. The note that really stands out is, without a doubt, the jasmine. At times it reminded me of Alien by Thierry Mugler, but so much softer. The difference is that Addict Eau Sensuelle stays floral and woody, far from being as sweet as Alien, and it’s close to the skin but with a very sexy touch thanks to the rose and musk. Now that I think about it, the scent projects more than I expected: I applied it at 9 a.m. and at 5 p.m. I walked past my mother and she asked what perfume I was wearing because it smelled lovely. Coming from her, that’s a huge achievement! I hope to be able to buy this Dior soon… Meanwhile, I’ll enjoy every last drop of the sample I have left.
