It seems Ferrari has launched a whole new line called Essence, aiming to improve the quality of their perfumes. Alongside Oud Essence and Leather Essence, they have caught me by surprise, and in my humble opinion, they smell much better than the previous versions. All three have a powerful trail and good longevity. Here, the notes of coconut, lavender, patchouli, cinnamon, and a touch of incense, cedar, and guaiac are very noticeable. It is a little creamy but smells good. The Silver is more versatile than the Leather and Oud. As with every review, the opinion is very personal and my perception may vary from others. However, the best thing is to try it yourself without being blindly swayed by reviews (good or bad).

This perfume is quite a character. Like its brother Leather, the spices dominate: cinnamon more than nutmeg and pepper. After the initial burst of fresh herbs, coconut and woods take over. The incense and birch, which others detect, I would place in the base to give it body. The curious thing is how it blends the woody, spiced, and aromatic (classic and masculine) with coconut. This adds creaminess without being overly sweet; it might not suit many, but that is what makes it peculiar, and it doesn’t go badly with me. The performance is quite good.
I picked up this discontinued fragrance at a good price on eBay, as I previously thought it was too expensive. It is different from the current 2021 versions and very interesting: upon spraying, the sweet, creamy coconut comes through filtered by woods and incense. As it settles, I notice patchouli and leather, a familiar scent I cannot quite identify. It is a hidden gem of the Essence range. What a pity it is discontinued.
I have just picked up this discontinued fragrance at a good price, as it seemed too expensive on eBay. It is worth saying that it smells different from the current 2021 versions and is quite interesting; the first thing I notice when spraying it is the coconut, a very sweet and creamy coconut filtered through the woods and incense. As it settles, I perceive the patchouli and leather, which sounds like a familiar scent I cannot identify. It is a rather good perfume and a hidden gem of the Ferrari Essence range. What a pity they no longer sell it.
The Essence line raises the bar compared to the rest of Ferrari: the moment you spray, the DNA of Leather is immediately noticeable, yet more woody, smoky, and balsamic. It reminds me of a woodier Fahrenheit with a touch of tropical coconut. It has great potential, dries well, and is very complex. The sage opens with freshness and a herbal note; the pepper is dosed so it doesn’t make you sneeze, while cinnamon and nutmeg elevate the spice with a sweetness that grows as the woody coconut emerges, without losing that balsamic vibe. In the base, a fine incense guides towards a relaxed finish. The trail is clear for the first two hours and gradually fades, lasting around 5–6 hours in summer. Approved.
