Descripción
Flower by Kenzo Eau de Lumière by Kenzo is a floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by Alberto Morillas and Amandine Clerc-Marie. The top notes reveal Calabrian bergamot and cassis (blackcurrant); the heart unfolds jasmine, Bulgarian rose, ylang-ylang, and peach; while the base notes complete the pyramid with violet, white musk, and heliotrope.

The sample has just arrived and I have loved it. I already like the normal Kenzo Flower and it is true that this one has a certain air, but they do not resemble each other much. I love it; it smells of a bouquet of roses and jasmines with the fruity touch of bergamot. It is not original but it smells very well. It has truly won me over; I have added it to my wishlist. Edit: after using it several times, it has become a bit heavy for me; I do not finish liking the scent that remains at the end. When an hour or two pass, the trail becomes a bit strong for me. Nevertheless, it is still good.
I have just bought it and it is delicious!
After trying several vials, I enjoyed a delicious floral opening that transformed into a musky copy of Burberry Brit Rhythm within a few minutes. On me, it lasts a mere breath, but the packaging is captivating, like all Kenzos… truly a pity, a real shame.
February 2018: A new flanker for Flower joining an extensive list. The good thing is that it is not a subtle variation of the original; it is a new perfume with the name and the bottle. For those waiting for the floral, musky, and vanilla scent of the first version, I say you can be disappointed; it does not smell like that. To me, it reminds me of a luxurious neroli soap at first, due to the mix of musk, bergamot, and jasmine, and then continues with a strong charge of violets, some rose, and heliotrope. The violet dominates until the end. Imagine a fresh, soapy, and musky version of Guerlain’s Insolence. It seems like a pleasant proposal from Kenzo, as their recent launches have not convinced me. It is pleasant but not original, as I have smelled this type of clean, floral, musk-based compositions countless times. Ideal for daily wear and the office; it smells of cleanliness and tidiness, nothing annoying. It is fresh and the optimal seasons are spring and summer. At night, it fades away; better to choose another perfume with more presence. It has a point of fresh elegance, something retro that recalls classic aldehydes. Nice, but that’s all. Best regards.
On the opening and top notes it is floral to death, neroli and jasmines with that starchy touch. It lasts five minutes and then drops off significantly, settling into a very subtle powdery floral. The rose is noticeable and some juicy fruit, presumably peach. The longevity is a sigh; total disappointment; I suppose one has to apply it liberally on clothes for it to show. The scent is exquisite but the longevity is poor. Strange, as the Kenzos I have owned always lasted much longer.
Two drops and you’re done. It is sweet and tempts you to sniff it over and over. It is the perfume for women who ‘catch’ men. Although it is citrusy, it sits better in winter thanks to that touch of talc. I cannot say that on my skin, with sweat, the fragrance becomes unpleasant. It is strong, with a generous application. You do not go unnoticed.
I adore violets and this smells of violet: soft, powdery yet very subtle. It is a clean, delicate scent that connects you with nature, like being in a garden full of flowers. Simply exquisite. It has good longevity and staying power. It has no specific season; it suits any occasion.
A lovely perfume; although I don’t usually wear this type, I tried a sample and adored it. The violet is very noticeable, and after an hour, the peach with the musk emerges, a delicious aroma. Towards the end, it feels a bit powdery. It has good longevity and sillage. I think I would buy it to vary my collection.
Very fresh and clean, soft and sweet. Ideal for everyday wear.
The scent of light. What? How? Will Light have a scent? Well, if the great perfumer Alberto Morillas already gave a scent to poppies, why not give a scent to light too? And that is how they announce this fragrance: the scent of light, a terribly feminine perfume. Yes, it is a very feminine scent, so delicate; it is not a scent to turn heads, but it has its charm in the soft and powdery violets. I dared to say that it is more powdery than the original but not so sweet; the bergamot, musk, and heliotrope give it that fresh and clean base that makes Lumiere a totally different scent to Flower. And does this Water of Light live up to its name? Personally, yes, because this scent is hope, peace, and tranquility on grey or black days. There is magic in perfumes; they are capable of gifting us sensations. For me, Flower Eau de Lumiere is a scent so comforting and embracing that I like to use it when I am not at peace.
Smells like those old-fashioned sugar heart candies, a jasmine that lingers like a soft, feminine caress in the bottle. Nothing spectacular, more basic than that.
It just arrived in a package along with ‘Armani Code’ and ‘The One Dolce&Gabbana’. I applied all three on paper to smell them before putting them on my skin, but I am impressed with ‘Eau de Lumière’ because as soon as I applied a single spray on the paper, the scent exploded everywhere, taking possession of the room and impregnating my nostrils; I am far from the paper where I applied it and I can still smell it. I love it. There is already a comment mentioning the resemblance to the scent of sugar-coated heart-shaped candies (when I was little my grandmother used to give me those and we called them ‘the perfumed ones’). It is sweet and fresh; you can perceive the soft powder of the violets mixed with a citrus. I love it; I don’t perceive it as heavy even when the climate is semi-hot. I like it for myself; it is a good purchase and my first Kenzo. The bottle is huge; it is the biggest perfume bottle I have to date ❤️
What a bigger surprise! If there was a perfume I couldn’t stand, it was the Flower; therefore, every new flanker that hit the market was resolutely overlooked. The twists of life: I bought a perfume and with it they sent me a sample of this Eau de Lumiere. My God, I said to myself. I kept it well at the back of my wardrobe and one night, before going to bed, I thought of trying it. Ohhhhh, what a wonderful surprise. I never imagined that a ‘flanker’ of Flower could drive me so crazy. But here is where I come to clarify the following: I think the denomination of flanker was more commercial than anything else, because they do not resemble each other in practically anything. Perhaps the violet note and the powder, but Eau de Lumiere is a perfume that has a phenomenal opening. Never better placed its name, it is luminous in every way, it is adorable, fresh, ideal for a sunny and mild day. Its dry-down is beautiful, although what I highlight most is its opening; it is imposing and radiates light and more light. Alberto Morillas has created a beautiful fragrance that has managed to conquer my heart. Eau de Lumiere, you celebrated me and you are in my collection, forming part of my undisputed top 5.
What a massive hit! If the original Flower was my nightmare, I ignored all its derivatives. But life takes turns: they sent me a sample of this Eau de Lumiere and I was blown away after trying it at night. I never imagined a ‘flanker’ could drive me so crazy. Mind you, while they share a violet and talc note, they are a beast of their own. The opening is phenomenal, imposing and full of light. It’s adorable, fresh, perfect for a sunny day. The dry down is lovely, but the opening is what really shines. Alberto Morillas has done a job of luxury that has won my heart. It is now part of my undisputed top 5.
A DELICIOUS TREAT! Spring = Eau de Lumiére by Kenzo… Sweet Floral. It’s like a sprout of flowers dusted with sugar. If the story of The Nutcracker had a continuation in Spring, without a doubt this Kenzo gem would be part of that cast. It has become one of my top picks; it radiates in the room; people have complimented it on me so much. It is the first Kenzo that has fallen in love with me. Fresh, sweet, LUMINOUS, floral, CHEERFUL, and feminine. I will go for my 2nd bottle. Explosion of Spring!!! Flowers sprouting from the snow!!! Beautiful, lovely, delicious!!
A pure delight! Spring = Eau de Lumière by Kenzo. It’s a sweet floral, like flowers covered in sugar. If The Nutcracker had a sequel, this jewel would be the star. It has become one of my favourites, it projects for miles and I’ve been asked about it constantly. It’s the first Kenzo that has truly fallen for me: fresh, sweet, luminous, cheerful and feminine. I’ll be buying the second bottle. It’s an explosion of spring, flowers blooming from the snow. Beautiful, gorgeous, delicious.
Rich and springy at first, with a slightly sweet musk base. It has nothing to do with the original Flower. It opens citrusy and sweet, then a subtle violet with talc and a fruity backdrop emerges. After an hour, the musk kicks in, reminding me of Narciso Rodríguez; it’s the scent that lingers on the skin for hours (about eight on me). The trail is moderate and soft after 2-3 hours. Perhaps I’ll buy it when I’ve finished my musks. Scent 7.5/10, longevity 7.5/10, trail 7/10, value for money 7/10, versatility 8/10, packaging 7/10. Would I buy it again? I didn’t purchase it.
This perfume is very rich and spring-like in its first phases, with a slightly sweet musky base. I don’t find any resemblance to the original Flower. After its sweet citrus opening, a subtle powdery violet appears with a fruity background. After about an hour, the musk begins to emerge, reminding me of some of Narciso Rodríguez’s perfumes. That is the scent that settles and lingers on the skin for hours (about 8 on my skin). Its trail is moderate, soft after 2-3 hours. I don’t rule out buying it when I finish other musky scents in my collection. Scent 7.5/10, Duration 7.5/10, Trail 7/10, Value for money 7/10, Versatility 8/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy it again? I didn’t buy it.
Although the original Flower suits me better as an impeccable classic, this isn’t one to dismiss. It’s a flanker with personality, a good option when you’re unsure what to wear, especially on fine days. It doesn’t suit cold or cloudy days for me. It evokes a morning walk in the countryside, like with SunFlowers, though they aren’t similar; it’s just a feeling. This Kenzo is more floral and comforting, a finer version of Anouk from decades ago. Longevity and trail aren’t bad; I’ve worn it to the office and people always ask if I smell of flowers, even by the end of the day. Watch out! It’s an EDT, so you need to apply a bit generously. It’s discreet, clean, and wearable for everyday life; it doesn’t seek attention, but sometimes beauty knows it’s beautiful.
Although I like the original Flower more, that ultra-versatile fragrance, this is by no means to be despised; it is a flanker with its own personality, a very good option, also for days when you doubt what to wear, especially if the weather cooperates. I don’t think it suits a very cold or cloudy day. What does it inspire in me? A walk early in the morning in a field in spring. There is another perfume I used years ago that also inspired that feeling, the sun and the field… SunFlowers, but beware, it does not resemble this one; it is just a subjective sensation; whenever I perfume myself, landscapes or situations come to mind. This Kenzo is rather more floral and comforting, it seems to me a finer version of another cologne I used decades ago… Anouk. As for duration and trail, it is not bad; I once wore it to work and it was noticeable; a couple of times people told me how good the office smelled of flowers and by the end of the day I could still smell it close to my skin, but beware! You have to apply it generously a bit, as it is an EDT. It is discreet, it smells clean, wearable for daily life, it doesn’t seek to turn heads or make a scene, but so what? Sometimes what is truly beautiful already knows it is beautiful, it doesn’t need to 🙂
I must say that I had been imagining the notes for quite some time before this perfume arrived in my hands, and it did not disappoint. It has a very sparkling, floral, and fruity opening. I am not a fan of peach or nectarine scents, but in this case, it is not annoying, as it is balanced with violet, rose, and jasmine notes. In summary, it is a citrus-floral opening perfume with touches of peach and violets that give it a soft powdery, talc-like base. Very feminine and more suitable for spring; I am using it in winter on cold days and it is quite pleasant too. Moderate trail and lasts about 5 hours on my skin.
The opening is pure sweet violet, almost nothing else is noticeable; in that sense, it is very similar to the classic Flower, but after a few minutes the intensity drops and the other flowers begin to emerge, with rose and jasmine predominating; I don’t detect any fruit notes at all. The incredible thing is that no one has noticed the resemblance to Red Door by EA, they are almost identical! I went to check the notes to compare and they are the same. The performance is good; it has a nice trail for several hours and lasts 8 to 12 hours on my skin. It is a formal perfume, more suitable for evening and cooler climates.
It is a powdery perfume, sweeter than the original Flower, and I perceive the violet note as predominant, which gives it a similarity to Insolence.
Finally, I have this gem in my hands! I received the Pure White Linen some time ago and was gifted samples, including the Flower by Kenzo Eau de Lumiere. At first, I didn’t pay it much attention, but when I was tidying up, I took another look and ufff, what a lovely scent. It is exactly as its name suggests: LUMINOUS. It leaves me cheerful, sparkling, flirtatious, and optimistic; yes, it is luminous. It lifted my spirits immensely. It has a powdery touch, but not as much as the original; it has so much personality. I loved it instantly. The only thing is that it’s not easy to find; I searched desperately until I was gifted it for my birthday… <3 <3 and I am happy for that. I highly recommend it.
Finally, I have this wonder! I was sent Pure White Linen and received two samples with the purchase, including Eau de Lumiere. I didn’t pay much attention at first, but after rearranging my collection, I saw it again and uuuuuuuufffffffff, super UF! What a beautiful scent! It lives up to its name: it’s luminous. I feel cheerful, sparkling, coquettish, and optimistic; it lifted my spirits immensely. It has a touch of talc, but not as much as the original; it has lots of personality. I loved it instantly. The downside is it’s hard to find; I searched like crazy until someone gifted it to me for my birthday… <3 <3 and I'm happy because of that. I highly recommend it.
