  I stumbled upon Etro fragrances this morning. Greene Street has an interesting opening, green and slightly spiced. The heart is more floral and oriental, smelling delicious. The dry-down is very unisex. The benzoin fits perfectly, though I’d appreciate a longer-lasting incense. It’s a lovely oriental-spiced scent with floral and incense notes that give it charm. Interesting at the end.

  I’m not particularly taken with this Italian niche house. It seems silly to them promoting ‘layering’, superimposing their perfumes to create something new; it feels like a disrespect to perfumers. But this fragrance suits me well. It’s warm, very wearable, and radiates elegance. It has character, it’s spiced, an intimate and urban oriental, modern. Yes, it’s a moderate scent with medium longevity, but I love that soft resinous sweetness with a natural nutmeg. It doesn’t stand out or leave a great memory, but it’s perfect for shy, intellectual people who prefer silence and discretion. Of the Etro scents I’ve tried, this is the one I liked most alongside New Tradition, although this one has more charm. It’s a perfume of natural essences for those who dislike artifice.
