What a find! Icon is an incredibly rich floral caramel: sweet iris and violet, almost gourmand, with a fruity and vanilla base. It’s packed with sugar, so it’s not for everyone; plus, there’s a synthetic note that might put some off before they shell out €180 for 100ml. But if you love floral gourmands, give it a try because for me, it’s a delight and very different from others I’ve tested. It has personality! The performance is spectacular: on my skin, it lasts all day with notable close-range projection, which makes sense given its 40% essential oil concentration. I see it as unisex and it suits me well, though some men might not be a fan. In my opinion, it’s like Viktor&Rolf’s Flowerbomb: if you can’t handle that sugary load, stay away; it’s similar but with an overload. My favourite from the Bvlgari Black collection. Scent: 9.5, Longevity: 9, Projection: 7.5, Value for money: 5, Versatility: 7, Originality: 9, Overall: 9.5
