Kenzo Amour by Kenzo is an oriental vanilla fragrance for women. Launched in 2006, this composition was created by Daphné Bugey and Olivier Cresp. The top notes are rice and white tea; the heart features frangipani (plumeria, plumaria, atapaima), cherry blossom, and heliotrope; and the base consists of vanilla, musk, incense, and thanaka wood. The perfume was honoured with two awards: FiFi Award Fragrance of the Year Women's Nouveau Niche 2007 and FiFi Award Best Packaging Women's Luxe 2007.

Extremely creamy, it smells like body cream. It’s lovely, a little sweet but not cloying. Innocent.
A lovely perfume, but very sweet for my taste. I only wear it in cool temperatures because it’s invasive; being used to fresh fragrances, it feels different to me. I was gifted it for its unique bottle, but it’s not for summer.
This year I bought several new perfumes, and it’s sad to say this one from 2006 is the novelty, haha. There’s a serious nose crisis; I think they should review their work. That said, let’s talk about this wonder: modern, current, elegant, and rich beyond measure. It’s original, doesn’t smell like anything else, lasts hours on my skin, and seems to have white chocolate. I’d buy it again; it will be a staple in my winter collection, yes, winter, because in the heat it could be bothersome.
I don’t know how to write professional reviews, but since it came out, I’ve tried to keep it close. It’s perfectly vanilla-scented, almost like a sweet treat, like a warm embrace. I love the trail that lasts so long with that powdery and sweet aroma. If I had to choose just one fragrance, I’d stick with the old and beloved Amour. It’s true that for summer it’s a bit too much.
Kenzo Amour smells like a rice tart, milk, and vanilla sweetened just right. It’s enveloping and naif, like sweets, though the frankincense makes it more mature. I never liked the iconic Flower, but here I’ve reconciled with Kenzo. Like all sweet lactonic fragrances, it’s not for scorching summers, but for temperatures that don’t exceed 30 degrees.
I thought I’d love it because the reviews describe it as a dessert or rice pudding with cinnamon, but I never understood it. To my nose, the blend of white tea and rice clashed, and I never sensed the vanilla.
With this, I discovered what it feels like to be hugged and held. Kenzo Amour is a warm embrace, peace, and tenderness. It was love at first sniff. I ordered it in paper and bought it online; it arrived just before winter and accompanied me through the coldest days. I think the colder it gets, the more its notes stand out. One day I used it to go into the snow, and it was perfect. I adore its warm vanilla and that special rice note. I don’t see any similarity with Hypnotic Poison.
I’ve tried it a thousand times without deciding. I love the rice note, but the white tea confuses me and stands between me and the vanilla. Still, it’s cosy and sensual. It resembles Hypnotic Poison but is more intense and projects better. It smells a lot like a rice pudding shampoo I’m addicted to (Garnier Delicatessen); if you haven’t tried it, that shampoo will give you the idea. It’s gourmand, spiced, and slightly sweet, like a rice pudding and cinnamon dessert with nutmeg and a pinch of icing sugar. The pink bottle suits it perfectly; it’s like a pink version of Hypnotic. It has a slightly plastic note. It’s spring-autumnal and casual for evening wear.
I absolutely love this scent; that vanilla boosted by frankincense is brilliant. Ever since I tried it, I’ve been obsessed with owning it. The downside is it doesn’t suit men, so I keep it for my intimate moments and for being alone with myself.
What a wonder! It’s beautiful, special, elegant, and feminine—truly collection-worthy. It smells like a Japanese garden with cherry blossoms, with a soft powdery touch, warm rice, gorgeous vanilla, and well-chosen flowers. If you imagine the scent of a geisha, this is it. It’s cosy, sexy, and addictive. I receive many compliments, especially from men; it’s like a magnet. It lasts over 8 hours on my skin. The only problem is they’ve discontinued and reformulated it. Now it lasts a mere breath and smells like nothing. What a pity to ruin such a treasure just to sell cheap knock-offs at designer prices.

Exquisitely elegant and special. I’d describe it as baby powder with a womanly scent. It lasts quite a while but softens over time (only noticeable if someone comes close). Worth it, but ask for a sample first because it’s soft if you’re used to strong perfumes. 8/10.
It was my first ‘powdery’ scent and for a while it was my signature. Since I got a dryer, I fell in love and have received many compliments. The blend of vanilla, incense and flowers was what captured me. Although I now alternate it, it remains one of my favourites.
The problem is that it tires me; it’s one of those scents that cloy (even though I’m a gourmand). It’s not potent or heady, but it saturates me; it smells like rice lotion for a long time.
A precious fragrance. A sister had one and every time I smell it I remember those times. It’s a creamy talc, very feminine and vanilla-scented. Edit: the trail and projection are very soft, but it has lasted up to 9 hours on the skin.
I call it ‘pregnancy craving’. I heard it while pregnant and loved it. It’s super elegant, a blend of incense, cherry and white tea. For precaution, I asked for a break and they bought it for me. I spent my bedridden days perfumed with this Kenzo Amour until the birth. I adore this perfume and the story we lived through.
They gave it to me and it didn’t convince me; it’s super sweet and powdery, that note is the most I detect. I hope it finishes soon.
Warm, intimate and serene. An oriental vanilla-floral, without any harshness. The vanilla shifts between sweet-milky and dry-oriental. A Kenzo gem to enjoy at any time.
On smelling it, I thought ‘I want to get married’ and of the vanilla rice from the song. Sweet and warm, ideal for winter with a fluffy jumper and the heating on. Barely powdery, reminiscent of Hypnotic Poison but softer.
Nothing more insipid or trail-less than this; it smells like hand cream, devoid of life.
Definitely, I do not get along with Kenzo perfumes. This one is lovely, but I simply dislike it; it gives me a migraine, just like the Flower, probably due to the powdery nature. Its composition is beautiful, but it is not for me.
It does become powdery (though not oppressively so like Ange ou Demons), yes it is sweet and vanilla-scented delicately… but one of these notes (perhaps one of the flowers?) gives a freshness during the first few minutes that feels very out of place in a perfume that is otherwise so cosy. Fortunately, it takes only a couple of minutes for this note to recede into the background. It is not the type of sweet perfume I usually prefer; it would make a good gift for a mother or grandmother.
As soon as it sprays, I detect a strong alcohol note, which then changes, revealing a heavy rice and vanilla scent. As it dries down, the incense and flowers emerge. It is sweet but not cloying; for a moment, it reminded me of Armani Code Satin and Cashmere (presumably due to the rice). At first, I loved it, but as I discovered new fragrances, I began to set it aside. That is why it bears no resemblance to Ilia or Ser, nor Hypnotic Poison; these two are stronger, oriental, and of a similar style but not alike. Kenzo Amour is very powdery, dusty, and sweet, ideal for blind gifting or treating yourself without hesitation; it will not disappoint you. The first Kenzo I ever smelled… At first, it gave me the impression of being insipid, nothing special, and too powdery. However, to my pleasant surprise, it turned out to be a great discovery! I asked a kind saleswoman why Kenzo was like this. She explained that perfumes containing oils take time to ‘process’. This gave me the impression that it is a quality fragrance, leaving me amazed. This is how a perfume should be! It is not flat; it evolves. Kenzo is art to my nose, the richest and finest powdery vanilla I have smelled so far, and I would love to wear it more often. I hope to add Kenzo Amour to my collection soon.
It is a very strong perfume with presence; many ladies have complimented it on me.
I find it bears a strong resemblance to Rochas’ Bizance, only this one is softer and more subtle.
It is perfect for any season. A sweet, powdery aroma, very long-lasting yet not cloying. It is soft and projects well on skin for at least six hours. It suits everyone’s taste, so I recommend it wholeheartedly.
How can there be such an exquisite aroma, my God?
I bought this perfume back in 2007 when it was a new launch in my country and when good perfumes cost less than $100. I used it a lot but felt it was overwhelming, so I put it back in its box and let it gather dust. Today, 17 years later, while cleaning my small collection, I felt the urge to take it out and smell it again. Good heavens, I don’t know how I deprived myself of it for so long; it is the best rice and vanilla scent I have ever smelled. I don’t usually like powdery notes, but in this one, it is so subtle. Definitely, ageing has turned it into a jewel. Wonderful.
What can I say about this perfume? It evokes mixed feelings. On one hand, the fragrance seems truly addictive and original; I’m fascinated by its opening. It feels sweet, soft, vanilla-scented, with citrus notes, giving an impression of a very delicate perfume, reminiscent of baby powder. My issue arises when, after a couple of hours, the incense note emerges; I simply cannot handle this. It lacks projection, and the longevity also leaves something to be desired for its price. It fades to skin-level scent very quickly.
It is beautiful; I bought it to layer with Hypnotic Poison… The best purchase of the year. The only downside is that it is discontinued; I am going to buy more bottles. The dry down reminds me of Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford, although at the start the vanilla with the rice and a bit of tea predominate. Why do they discontinue these treasures?
I would love to own this work of art, but for now I am layering it with Hypnotic Poison by Dior and Kenzo Flower. The result is very similar once they settle. But I miss the opening of Kenzo Amour with the rice note.
We are in the middle of winter, one of the coldest in Chile, and I feel this perfume is like being wrapped up, drinking a rich tea with the stove on and my dog on my lap.
I think it is wonderful. Sweet, creamy, and sophisticated, in the line of Kenzo (I am a fan and it shows). It has an air of Flower but with a talc twist, I suppose the rice note influences this. It doesn’t have huge sillage or nuclear longevity, but it stays close to the skin for a few hours, so, what more could I want?
I have discovered perfection. A beautiful perfume, inside and out, soft, sweet, and talc-like, oriental. Elegant. A work of art.
Have you had lemon milk tea? Something like that, though with less lemon, but yes, that warm, talc-like tea in its perfect point (it smells like talc). Although it came out years ago, it doesn’t smell vintage. The Monclear does smell vintage to me and I can’t stand it. This one is more subtle and rounded. I think it goes in any season, but I like it more on fresh days. An aroma that is a hug to the soul.
I was surprised by the evolution: it starts with vanilla, then drops and reveals floral notes with tea and a creamy vanilla (without that milky milk sensation) and a woody base. I didn’t detect the incense; it was very subtle. I suspect the rice gives that talc-like sensation that runs through everything. After two hours, it reminded me of Hypnotic Poison, but it is much softer and lacks that synthetic almond note that many people dislike. In the end, the wood wins with a citrus and floral touch. It lasted about four hours on the tester with moderate sillage. Beautiful, inviting to sniff, warm without being intrusive. Ideal for an autumn afternoon.
A real beauty, a subtle and refined vanilla cream. It lasts for hours but I don’t feel it projects much. Very similar to Hypnotic Poison EDT. The bottle is gorgeous; I would buy it again.

Winter vanilla, very pleasant. I’ve owned it several times. The projection is weak but the longevity is good, especially on clothes.
