What catches my attention is the association of violet with the aviation world, something I believe Dior did with Fahrenheit and Cartier with Envol. In my view, it resembles motor oil. The scent is pleasant, easy to wear but doesn’t stand out too much. It’s a good option for those tired of Le Male and Ultramale who want to stay with the house. Performance is quite good, up to the standard of its mother.
Smells like CH with violet and a touch of Invictus Aqua 2016. It’s very good with excellent longevity!
The idea isn’t bad; I think it’s a good fragrance. The violet note is charming with that famous mentholated blend from Gaultier that tells you it’s from his family, with a certain Le Male touch but distinctive, just as a flanker should be. It has some air of Le Beau thanks to the wood, and the military-coloured bottle is worthy of collecting. The longevity is normal, neither beast nor water, and the projection is in line with the house’s recent releases. I think it’s one of the best recent ones, but you must like violet as it monopolises the dry-down along with the woods. As with all tastes, opinions vary, so try before you buy.
The idea isn’t bad; I think it’s a good fragrance. The violet note, though not new, has charm due to that famous mentholated mix from Gaultier that identifies its family. It has a certain Le Male touch but distinctive, as a flanker should. It also has air of Le Beau due to the wood touch. The bottle with military colours is very pretty and worthy of collecting. Longevity is normal, neither beast nor water, with projection like the latest from the house. I consider it one of the best recent ones, but you must like violet, a particular smell that monopolises the dry down along with the woods. As with tastes, opinions vary, so try before buying.
JPG reclaiming its early days without the horrible Puig. It doesn’t smell like the synthetic CH or the excess of Le Male; I sense it as more green and mentholated, like Le Beau Male with lavender. It’s very fresh, with excellent longevity and good trail. For Le Male fans, it reminded me of the editions before the horrendous Puig destroyed the brand, with fresh green floral touches. Very pleasant.
I tried it today. At first, it smells sweet with a rough herbal note, then the powdery violet stings with a spiced aura. It reminded me of CH and Eros. Afterwards, it shifted to a spiced floral with pleasant woods that balance it. It seems fresh, sweet, and spiced, with a creamy floral brightness ideal for day and night. It’s nothing extraordinary, but it surpasses the bland Le Male in the Navy and lasts a long time. It’s a particular scent between mossy, sweet, floral, and spiced. Not bad.
Tried it today; at first it smells sweet with a rough herbal touch, then the powdery violet spice emerges with a spicy halo reminiscent of CH and Eros. It evolves into a spicy floral with pleasant woods that balance it all. It’s fresh, sweet, and spicy, with that creamy floral brightness making it perfect for day wear or, with more application, for night. Nothing groundbreaking, but it beats the bland Le Male in the Navy and lasts forever. It smells good on everyone yet keeps its personality between mossy, sweet, floral, and spicy. Not bad at all.
Although I’m not a huge fan of the JPG Le Male saga, I own Le Male BPI and several flankers like Ultramale, Le Beau, or Popeye, and none are bad. Perhaps Le Male is a bit dated but it still pleases. I bought it at a good price, it smells fresh, like PM, and women love it. As with all JPG scents, if you have the chance to buy it cheap, don’t hesitate.
I found it blind and am surprised despite the negative reviews. Firstly, it smells incredible, warm and gentle like D&G Pour Homme. Secondly, it has good trail; when applied to the arm, the scent reaches my nose. I recommend it if you like these points, before it disappears from the testers as it’s a limited edition.
Found it blind and was surprised; despite the negative reviews, it smells incredible. It feels warm and gentle like D&G Pour Homme with a brutal trail. I applied it to my arm and it leaves clouds of scent reaching straight to my nose. If you like these two points, I recommend trying it before it disappears from the testers, as it’s a limited edition.
I tried it in-store and was surprised: it’s a CH Men on steroids. Brutal performance, lasting over eight hours with excellent trail. Very sweet, and the violet accord is executed beautifully. It’s the perfect alternative if you don’t want the decaffeinated CH Men. It has nothing on Le Male, but the scent is delicious and the performance, being an EDT, is incredible.
You can detect the violet and mint, like when you eat a sweet Tic Tac. I use it for parties, family gatherings, or outdoor activities like camping; it’s greatly enjoyed in the afternoon or evening. My wife sprayed it two or three times on a duvet and it soaked through the whole room; it lasted about three hours and I can still smell it close to my skin after six. The bottle is very dapper, aluminium with a plush red base.
Smells like sweet violet and mint, reminiscent of a Tic Tac. I wear it to parties, gatherings, and the beach; it’s perfect for outdoor camping. My wife uses it to scent the duvet, filling the room; it lasts about three hours in the air and is noticeable on the skin after six. The aluminium bottle with the plush red base is very chic.
I’m surprised no one has mentioned it resembles Josier’s Green Leather; it reminds me of this more than CH Men.
Interesting fragrance. I first smelled it in December 2019 and it was barely noticeable on blotter, I thought my nose was saturated, but I hoped it would be the third torso of the line. I bought it in March 2020 and my surprise was that it barely smelled, a slight Toy Boy-style touch that disappeared quickly and stayed close to the skin. The curious thing is that others could smell it but I couldn’t, and it became one of my least favourites. Gradually I recovered using it, started smelling it more and appreciating details. That initial Toy Boy touch remained, something like pepper or the violets, but it worked. It’s very similar to Le Male On Board but without that sweetness; perhaps if you have one it’s redundant, or you can alternate depending on whether you want something more masculine, aquatic or sweet. Longevity: 7 to 8 hours. Projection: I’m still researching because I smell it, then it stops, it returns but others can smell it. I give it an 8; I’d recommend testing on skin before buying unless you’re a collector. PS: I wouldn’t buy it again as it’s very similar to On Board and I enjoy that one much more.
I think it’s a fragrance away from the common, its scent is perfect for the day and evenings. I use it when it’s cold and it behaves very well. I consider it unisex; my girlfriend uses it and it’s one of her favourites. I bought it blind and hadn’t smelled anything similar before. It lasts about 10 hours with moderate projection. I give it a 9.5 out of 10.
It seems like a perfume away from the common, perfect for day and afternoons. I use it when it’s cold and it behaves very well. I consider it unisex; my girlfriend uses it and it’s one of her favourites. I bought it blind and hadn’t heard of anything similar before. It lasts about ten hours with medium projection. I give it a 9.5 out of 10.
Finally bought it and straight to the point: does it resemble CH Men? 50% in the opening, 90% in the dry down. Someone said it was a CH Men with steroids and they were right. It lasts about 8 hours without issues. For an EDT at that price, it’s excellent. The batch of CH Men I used for comparison was from 2021. If you’re looking for the CH DNA with better performance, the JPG Aviator is an excellent option.
As a fan of the Le Male and its infinite flankers, I was very disappointed with this launch (and the previous ones). Since Gaultier has been distributed by Puig, everything has gone from bad to worse; the only decent ones have been Popeye or Superman, the rest are absolute disappointments. I won’t buy it; I don’t understand why they make these soulless, cheap perfumes.
Just added it to my collection. Those who love the original Le Male might not like it, as it’s a completely different DNA and scent, but I adored it. It bears a strong resemblance to CH Men, that DNA that drives me mad, although it lasts a mere breath. I’ve tried Bentley Momentum Intense and it didn’t convince me, but this Le Male Aviator has pleased me immensely. Good performance with that DNA, nothing more.
I just added it to my collection; classic Le Male lovers might not like it as it’s an entirely different DNA and scent profile, but I loved it. As they say, it’s very similar to CH Men (that DNA that drives me crazy), but it lasts a breath. I had tried Bentley Momentum Intense and it didn’t convince me, but this Le Male Aviator has pleased me immensely, good performance with that DNA, no more.
Yes, it has very little to do with the classic Le Male, but if you see it as an independent fragrance rather than a flanker, it’s very solid. It lacks the star factors like the Elixir’s sweetness or Le Beau’s charm, but it’s a well-made masculine perfume with good longevity that women like.
The opening smells very similar to CH Men, then the mint and violet leaves arrive, making for a delightful fresh fragrance.
It’s rich, but on my skin it has poor performance and weak sillage; with luck, it lasts two hours, which is a shame.
I love breaking with the trend and not following the usual script; the Aviator is very different and that’s what I like. As a fan of the saga, I appreciate that it’s not a copy, and I loved that fresh yet sweet opening. Violet notes dominate but sound great, making it ideal for hot days as it doesn’t feel heavy, though you need to reapply since the longevity is moderate.
